I'm about to play an Escalation Tournament in a couple of weeks, and I signed up with a list I've never tried before. I've played Dash once, and that was with an Autoblaster, now it is a variation of Super Dash. I wanted to see how difficult it is to keep enemies out of the donut hole. Originally this list is intended for the 90p round, but I added some upgrades to make it fit 100p. The pluses are upgrades that are not in the original list.

Initiative didn't matter, so I took it. I figured I'd need to quickly reduce the number of Z-95s to avoid being blocked and hit on Range 1. So I made sure to approach where he wouldn't be able to shoot back too much. Caught a Tala at Range 3 dealing three damage. Cracken was the only one shooting back, missing. Next round I moved past them, forcing them to turn to be able to give chase. I fired at one of the Z-95s (can't recall which) and rolled 4 blanks, aw well, tried Predator, aaaand another blank, fantastic. Jan was finally in range for her turret, which took out the damaged Z-95. Next round Cracken bumped and got no action, Dash utilized that and got three hits in, meanwhile Chewie got one or two hits on Dash. Next round Cracken went after Jan, ending up getting himself killed by her ICT. That thing works great for mopping up damaged ships. Jan had the final Tala ioned pointing away from everything, Dash went after Chewie and Jan tried to reposition to keep up with Dash (not easy even though I had Nien). Dash traded a few blows with Chewie, the both took pretty consistent damage. Dash broke off at an opportunity and finished off the Tala which was just on it's way back into the fight, meanwhile Jan got a hit on Chewie, leaving an ion token. Dash took the one crit you don't want on Dash, Munitions Failure, luckily I still had the PRs which I could discard instead of the HLC. Dash couldn't hold it anymore and went down with Chewie still at 5 Hull. Jan managed to land another hit while loosing her own shields. She took the opportunity to reposition while Chewie worked off his two ion tokens. I went up to face him again, bot got a bit too close, scored a hit at Range 1 and then got 2 hits and a Direct Hit back, and that was the end for Jan.
Though I lost the game I got a good feeling. This was the second time I flew a large ship and Dash didn't take a single Range 1 hit the entire game. The idea for the tournament is taking the 58p Dash, then 32p Jan and then adding four Refit Prototypes the last two rounds. Dash can dish out quite some damage with that HLC, sometimes even without modifying the dice apart from Predator. ![]()
