Looks like different stores are starting to announce they're hosting regional tournaments. I just got an invite to one in Fredericton, NB, Canada (Gamezilla, June 6th) and I saw there were 6 in the UK announced this week. Any others?

i am looking forward to seeing where all the regionals will be held this year.

My FLGS is trying to run one. I'm worried that if they get it they will make me be a TO. Not sure how I feel about that.

It seems like the locations get notified before FFG does a formal announcement. It's been 2 weeks since the submission deadline. How long does it really take to make a decision???

I would hope they put a lot of thought into it. Check for nearby hotels, parking, and size of the venue. Some small stores put in for them and are not prepared for how many people show up.

My FLGS is small in size but if they were to get the regional we can get space at local university to host as large an event as needed. So not all small stores are alike. :-)

I don't know the application process, but it'd assume one of the questions is "what's your capacity" or something to that effect.

Note the Canadian locations are picked by Lion Rampant not FFG. We've heard about most games except IA and ANR now.

No specifics other than the tentative date and venue. It's looking like it will be July 4th/5th weekend at the Grand Villa Casino. The details are still being worked out.

I can't plan my vacation until I know when/where the Regionals are... I'm so pathetic...

The more the merrier =). There's a pretty good chance that there will be a regional somewhere down the I5 corridor too. Our crew would make that trip too. A few of us made the drive to Spokane last year, but I'm not looking forward to another drive that long this time 'round.
