S&V Upgrades on Defenders?

By SDCC, in X-Wing

Man...I hadn't noticed that Flechette didn't stack, mainly because I've only bothered to proxy Mangler so far....That's a bummer. Flechette would be exponentially more useful if it could stack

there's also no way in the nine hells that it'd be worth 2 points

A tie defender is base 3 attack though, so the Prockets itself has a base 2 attack that replaces the defenders base 3 attack?

Proton Rockets don't care what your base attack is. Like all secondary weapons, they provide their own attack value. In this case, its 2 + the ship's AGILITY value (Defender's have Agility 3, so 2 + 3 = 5).

While I can see the argument for not allowing unlimited stacking, giving it the option to stack up to two tokens would have been nice. Now it's basically a 3-dice attack that's not worth using against someone who used PTL or who had just K-turned.

EXACTLY!

PTL is everywhere, making this cannon a poor choice against many lists.

Indeed it would have. I'm having a hard time placing it when I could grab an ion instead, other than it auto-pegs fatties (ion does not) and it's a point cheaper (very important, especially across multiple ships)

but the ability to stack stress would jack the price of the cannon to 4 at the very least (considering where we are with tactician and flechette torps). Cannon slot stress stacking is not only amazing against PTL, it's amazing against everything

For where it is now, the Flechette Cannon functions as soft control. You're essentially removing any non-defender or non-firespray's ship's ability to joust with your squadron and also severely limiting the defensive/movement capabilities of fatties at the cost of damage.

It's also a phantom murderer if you can get it on a PS 10

Ack I keep forgetting about autothrusters boost requirement.

Mangler cannon and IPM on a defender could be fun
