I play this game casually with friends and family but I really enjoyed some of my battles so I wanted to share them with the world!
I won't be going into any specific details about the exact maneuvers or rolls.etc. But I will try and tell them in a short and entertaining manner!
The Squads!
Recently, me and my father were playing the scenario from the Imperial aces expansion. He played with a pair of interceptors with some "Nothing Special" pilots alongside Mauler Mithel and Dark Curse (D-C was in the prototype). His ships had lots of shield and hull enhancements but nothing else.
I had Han Solo armed with marksmanship and Chewbacca to help him dish out more damage and last longer. I also had Airen Cracken with Assault Missles and Luke Skywalker with R2F2.
The Setup!
In the playing area there were two lines of asteroids going from one player's side to the other. One of them was at the middle-left one at the middle-right. The opposing formation, that was in between the asteroid lines, had 2 fighters and 1 interceptor leading it and 1 interceptor at the rear. I had Luke and Airen in the middle, looking straight at the enemy. Han was at the side so he could deploy operatives onto the asteroid-mounted facilities.
The Game!
The first round was simple, we all advanced forwards, DC activated a station that boosted his firepower and agility. The main forces clashed and there was a round of shooting, Luke lost his shields but he destroyed DC's as well. However Airen had a lock on the central ship in the formation. He fired the assault missiles, doing one damage to that ship and one to all the others, leaving DC with 2 Hull points!
The next round, Han dropped an operative onto the station that had been activated and the other pair rushed straight ahead at top speed. The ties K-turned and had a shot on my pair. Luke went down without a shot after all my opponents ships fired at him. Things looked grim...
The station was now destroyed. Dark Curse sneakily moved in front of Han to save his own skin from the 3 strength 360 degree turret! Cracken K-Turned and the other ties moved up. First it was Hans turn to shoot, he almost destroyed Mithel's ship. Mauler fired, taking down the shields of the Z-95 with deadly precision. Next to fire was an interceptor and Airen himself, the interceptor dealt 2 damage to the Z-95, destroying it. But he would get a shot as well due to the fact they were equal skill. He fired at DC rolling double crits! One was evaded but the other hit. The card revealed that the attack was a direct hit. Destroying the fighter and winning the game!
