Sold Seperatly

Does anyone have any idea why fantasy flight hasn't released damage decks seperatly or movement templates. I understand the movement templates aren't that big of a deal since you can find tons of third party ones but they released the dice pack seperate why not the damage deck?

They made the dice pack because 4+ dice is needed to field most ships (without re-rolling some dice). The damage deck there is not any merit in having a second deck. Templates they leave for high level promos, which is the right move IMO.

Having a second damage deck is great for when one of your cards disappear or when your just teaching a friend how to play another reason is i had a friend get into x-wing and they looked through all the products and picked out exactly what they wanted to run but then they had to spend another 40 just to get the damage deck.

they also needed the maneuver templates if they were ever planning on being able to play without borrowing stuff

If one of your cards dissapear just let them know.

I lost a card, let them know I was missing one, and lo and behold they sent me a whole new deck.

Probably because FFG is fairly generous about replacements.

for templates they just picked up some team covenant ones.

Lots of people buy multiple core sets. Maybe you could have arranged to receive an offer from somebody for their unused damage deck.

At the casual level the game is designed to be played with one damage deck that is shared by both players. That is even part of the basic rules although the tournament rules do ask each player to bring his/her own damage deck.

Although the contents of a single deck may become known more quickly and which player could utilize that knowledge changes having both players draw from a single deck really doesn't change all that much compared to each player using separate decks.

Now if you want to say you need a separate DD available because you are buying the dice packs to get the dice and all the cardboard from 3rd parties while only using ships you aren't getting in the core I guess we may agree on needing it. The thing there is that most people will find use for the core game's ships and it is much cheaper to get all of the other components that way as opposed to buying them from other parties.

If I get the trade I am trying on BGG for a core set you can have that one, hell I will even pay to ship it to ya, couldn't cost more than a couple bucks in a padded envolope, let know if you get one another way and I will shoot you a message if I get the trade
