Jake Farrel is one of the main players in my upcoming Store Champ list and I'm on the fence between which two of these three ETs to put on him.

outmaneuver and push, you won't regret it!

PtL + Outmaneuver is probably my favorite out of those three. But I also like having Veteran Instincts on him as well.

I'd definitely go for PTL, so you can get 3 actions per round (Evade/TL/Boost, Focus and BR/Boost).

Regarding Predator / Outmaneuver, I think it depends how you intend to fly him and what your local meta is like.

Do you plan on flying him as a flanker? Do you expect many turreted ships? Fat Hans with C3P0? Go for Outmaneuver.

Not the question, but you might want to consider PTL + Autothrusters if you get S&V before the tourney

Predator and PTL. Focus, reposition with free Barrel Roll or Boost, and PTL for either an Evade or Boost as needed.

Predator and PtL is always the best. Boost, focus, built in semi-target lock.

Outmaneuver will pointless against a Decimator.

I think PtL + Outmaneuver or Predator is good. It really depends as was said above on how you fly and what you'll be flying against.

Outmaneuver does jack to a VT-49 for example. But it's great for stopping them from using 3PO.

Predator is sort of covered in the potential PTL target-lock (facilitated by free roll/boost after focus), but it is also less situational than Outmanuever. While I'd say you'd need Outmanuever to make Jakes do any kind of decent damage for his cost, you can't really guarantee it at PS 7.

The thing I like about Predator is that on a A-Wing it's almost as good as a TL, but doesn't cost you an action.

But Outmaneuver can help increase the effective damage a A-Wing does. So IMO they're both good. On Green pilots I've run both, and use the action to either focus or boost.

Yep. Predator frees Jake from ever having to actually use the TL action, so he can just Focus/Evade every turn. Every evade token spent is almost an extra point of shielding for him.

This is me every time I have to decide between focus and target lock.

Ptl Jake has a good enough action economy to make pred redundant due to target lock. Outmanoeuvre is a perfect counter for the high defense targets he struggles with. You just need to use the rest of your force to distract your opponent with.

I just played Jake last night for th first time and I had PTL and Outmanuver. He got many shots out of arcs thanks to his ability. Without Outmanuver A-wings don't s me to ever be a Big threat.

Generally agree with this reasoning

The only time Outmaneuver becomes particular useful at countering C-3PO is if the outmanueverer (bleh) is the only thing shooting at C3PO.

This could be very good if you have an injured Han and only Jakes left, so you can finish him off instead of letting him be almost literally invincible.

PTL with predator it maximizes your dice without taking up an action.

I'd take PTL + Outmaneuver, with Jake's ability making him more maneuverable helps align Outmaneuver easier.

Sure Decimators make Outmaneuver less useful, but that is only 3 Variants: Patrol Lead, Oicunn, and RAC.

A crazy thought would be Outmaneuver + Predator. Although you'd have to find a way to include Kyle Katarn + upgrades into the list.

Natural Focus and Assigned Focus for 2 tokens plus triggering Boost / Barrel Roll. All while retaining the benefits of Outmaneuver and Predator.

Agree with PTL+Predator, since Jake can die very quickly due to a fluke green die roll, focus/evade is super important as the 2 actions you take. I usually take VI+PTL only because of the meta, PS9 gives me a chance to deal with the Soontir, Whisper, Han's out there, or at least force them to pick initiative order.

With all the ways to get stress at the moment I leave PTL in the box. outmaneuver and predator are my pick but I would rather VI and predator

It stops them from using C-3PO for that attack. Which was my point. Sure they'll likely use it latter against another attacker.
