Team Covenant Template Question

By PenguinBonaparte, in X-Wing

Since there are a lot of template threads with various amounts of rage, I'd just like to ask if people with TC templates could post pictures of what their colors look like on the table or black mats. I've got the light green ones, which I really like but, they tend to blend in a bit, esp. because a lot of the tables I end up playing on also have a lot of green on them. Thanks!

Check out this Kickstarter for Greenman Designs. These will be easily visible on any color mat and the quality is excellent. I have gotten templates from him before and you will not be disappointed. Check it out. Most of the stretch goals have already been hit.

Look, we get that these are nice. But he was specifically asking about Team Covenant. Most people would appreciate it if you kept this to one of the multiple threads that have already been posted about this kickstarter, instead of cluttering up threads related to a specific brand.

Eh, I find the way people keep pushing products on here to be a turn-off, and I think those look a bit gaudy. TC is clean and simple, and they've done right by me, so I'd like to continue supporting them.

Look, I was just trying to offer an alternative. If you don't like my suggestion, feel free to ignore it.

I'll post a picture of my orange TC templates on my mostly dark vinyl mat tonight for you.

Hard to ignore when it's plastered all over every single thread...

EXACTLY....btw have you heard about these templates that are on Kickstar....

I have the Lt Blue ones and colored in the number/symbols with a silver sharpie and they look pretty good, even on a black background.

They can still get lost on black occasionally. The only ones that I have seen that do not are the yellow-ish/orange ones.

If I remember I will take a pic of mine in action tomorrow or Sunday and post.

I have clear ones from TC... I'll post pics after I take some on a play mat.

Awesome, thank you guys! A friend of mine has the clear, which always get lost in hilarious ways :)

I'm gonna keep on the long path to glory for THE OFFICIAL FANTASY FLIGHT GAMES TOKENS... thanks.

Chris talked about getting their in-house-machine set up at Gen-Con last, and the first thing we are getting now that they have had time to work it up are the new game mats. How long do you think it will be before all of the tokens follow these mats?

Prolly not to long... I mean they already have the designs done.

:D

I wonder how many people would feel that the tokens they won have been diminished if someone can just buy them.

I mean I can see how some would feel that way, having won focus or evade tokens and now everyone can just buy them. But on the other hand, they got them for free, and if FFG sells some they may look slightly different.

Can't be long now, Estragon!

Yeah they can sell a ton of the tokens I bet.

:)

One thing that has kept me away from all of these other tokens on the market is that they ain't like the FFG art.

I want FFG SWAG... dab-nag-it!

Even the FFG ones that are repeated are different slightly. The 2015 Store Championship Focus tokens are on a frosted light green acrylic. The 2013 Regional ones are on a clear dark green acrylic. Same design on top, but easy to tell the difference. I suspect if FFG ever sells them, but will make it easy to differentiate between the OP ones and the purchased ones.

In the mean time, the TC ones have some amazing detail and really cool unique designs. I love that they are totally different from the FFG designs, but clear in their purpose (Focus tokens are totally focus tokens, but they are not copies of FFG focus tokens). TC did a great job.

I painted mine with 1-2 coatings of a very old white acrylic paint from my gf's old miniatures/d&d days. It isn't perfect when you look at it very closely but you'll agree it's good enough at the distances we leave these things on the table.
