Cancelled pre-order?

By Trevor Goodchild, in Star Wars: Armada

Greetings fellow gamers ripe with Armada anticipation,

As an overseas buyer I scoped out a bunch of different places to put in my pre-order.

While mini mart had the lowest prices - postage to the land of Oz was a killer.

I ended up putting my order in with Barnes & Nobles a few weeks ago. Strangely I received a order cancelled message today citing my "order could not be fulfilled."

Anyone else had any similar issues?

I just received the same thing, and there website states the core set is no longer available

What the hell?

I'm sure its due to the dockworkers strike. This has delayed container ships on the west coast for months in some cases. They probably canceled the pre orders because they don't know when the core set will be available now...

A guy on the Star Wars Armada Reddit had the same problem with Barnes & Nobles.

I suspect its only with Barnes & Nobles that these preorders are being canceled.

Would be worrying if it turns out more retailers cancel preorders.

Thanks for the updates.

With the plummeting Aussie dollar, I'll probably end up re-lodging a pre-order with one of our local on-line retailers whose prices are now only very marginally more expensive rather than the 10-30% difference it used to be.

Is this only affecting our friends across the pond?

Sounds like the jerks may be pulling an arbitrage :(

I don't know... Barns and Noble wouldn't have been my first choice to pre-order.... Great for books... not so great for table top games.

It now looks like games paradise is our cheapest bet for ordering locally, $111AUD, Andrew you get the order over $25 it's free postage

Thanks for the tip Funk Fu - that's about 10% cheaper than MilSims.

I had a great experience ordering from Barnes & Noble when the recent reprint/redistribution of the earlier X-Wing waves came out. Impressively quick delivery. Have had very good experiences with Book Depisitory too, but their Armada pre-order prices aren't good value in this case.

I find the bookdepository.com is a pretty good place to order from living in Aus.

They do free shipping and are cheaper than local retail. They don't do preorders though.

meh.. if you are after the ..cheapest deal.. use www.booko.com.au and shove in the ISBN. I ended up ordering the core set from one place and pre ordering the Gladiator and additional Victories from other places.

It probably doesn't help you, but i just saw walmart is now accepting pre-orders for armada at $59.95... do they ship overseas?

Do you have a link for that? I don't see it on their website.

Alas Walmart do not post to Oz

I got an email response back from barnes and noble stating that they were unable to source the product to fulfill the order. They did give me a $5 voucher though

A $5 voucher for a product they can't supply? Handy :/

I found that Mighty Ape has a listing for it, but it is hidden and showing as "not available" I added it to my wishlist to keep an eye on it. The price listed is NZ $129.99 which seems a pretty good price - cheaper than Wayland games anyway, but it could go up when the listing is made live. Could be worth keeping an eye on as I know they do ship to Australia (mightyape.co.nz mightyape.com.au)
