The idea is ripe for Homebrew.

Use the x wing templates.make up your own dials.

Come up with some action that rotates the ship relevant to the base cfasing. Print up a base that has an arc in each facing.magnetise the ships so they spin.

Quite the necro. I don't think FFG has the rights for BSG anymore, sadly; I didn't see a news article, but you'll notice the BSG products have disappeared. The news articles are still there if you search, and you can find the old product pages, but A: the game is no longer listed in the "other products page" B: it's no longer in stock and C: it's not in line for a reprint on the Upcoming page. RIP in peace.

What I don't get is why everybody's having a hard time grasping the fact that it would not take a whole lot of errata to change how these ships ought to move for an offshoot/similar game.

I think BSG would do better as a mod to Armada. Large ships jump in, deploy viper squads, fun begins. Large and slow ordinance, like nukes, should be something that moves slow and can be shot down by vipers.

Biggest problem with BSG is they don't have the variety of ships that Star Wars has. Well, unless you include the civilian fleet.
