If there were an Aces pack for your favorite ship, who would you expect as a new pilot?

By DraconPyrothayan, in X-Wing

For Rebels it would have to be a Y-Wing/E-Wing pack, featuring Davish "Pops" Krail in a y-wing and Aggressor Wing as new generic Y-Wing, plus a new named and generic pilot for the e-wing.

For Imperials i'd like to see a Tie-Bomber and Tie-Defender aces pack, as these two need some love in regards of pilot options.

For S&V i'd like to see the Scyk and Z-95 get attention first.

But honestly i would far rather see Huge ships released for Imperials AND scum and villainy before we get more re-releases of existing ships. So far we have the Raider, but that leaves the situation as Rebels 2:Imps 1:S&V 0.

I still want Mara Jade in a Z-95. Possibly with an altered stat line, or stat-altering title. Likely as scum. Maybe with Bossk's Nashtu Pup.

It'd perhaps be good to fill out the Rogue Squadron roster and beef up the X-wing's manouvrability at the same time.

A title giving it boost would give it the manouvring edge it needs to not be overshadowed by the B-wing so much, and actually make it faster than the Z-95 it was supposed to outclass.

There are plenty of other Rogue Squadron pilots - Plour and Dllr spring to mind from the comics, plus Zev Sensesca (who's a speeder pilot on hoth but was supposedly a Rogue Squadron starfighter pilot prior to being shot down). Equally, there's the option of Fel in an X-wing.

Also - as an elite pilot talent, there's "Rogue Leader" - this callsign gets handed to the best starfighter pilot in the alliance - so "small ship only. You cannot equip this talent if any other friendly ship has an equal or higher pilot skill"... - kind of like squad leader, but instead of commanding the rest of the squad, making the person with it "the best of the best".

And also would open the possibilite to use Autothrusters on X-Wings. For Example, Autothrusters on Luke Skywalker, with R2-D2 and VI, would be probably one of my favourites ships.

You could give Mara's Z a Cannon upgrade. If I remember correctly, her Z had an Ion Cannon instead of missiles.

Or

PS-8/EPT/Illicit - If your attack hits, assign the defender with an Ion token, 18 points?

I'd also love to see her in an Imperial Shuttle, PS 8 with and EPT.

During the combat phase, any enemy ships within range 1 that have crew equipped, do not receive the ability or benefits from that crew.

She would be a nice counter to Fat anything and a real pain in the ass. I'd go with 29 points for her.

Poe Dameron (from episode VII) in an x-wing. :P

I think Erisi Dlarit is a pretty likely pilot for Defender Aces. We already have lots of squint pilots so she, like Corran, could make the jump.

Shira Brie in an X-Wing, also including some kind of Imperial only crew card to represent her status as a spy.

I want... no... I NEED Soontir Fel in an X-Wing.

you get soontir in an x-wing and i get tycho in a phantom... deal?

The difference is that soontir was a member of Rogue Squadron before he defected to the empire

Other way around. Imperial pilot first, defected to the Rebels. Then Thrawn abducted him to have him serve in the Unknown Regions.

A phantom? That'd be a continuity problem. He had already defected by the time those things were in service.

Tycho in a TIE/line starfighter? That'd be possible. Ditto for Interceptors, which were (I think) in service prior to the destruction of Alderaan (which understandably caused Tycho to defect).

We didn't see any Interceptors serving with Death Squadron at the time of the Battle of Hoth. I think we can all agree that Vader's personal flotilla had the best main-production equipment in the Empire (such as the lead ship in the Executor-class of Star Destroyers), so if they had been in service at that point, Death Squadron would have had some.

Celchu defected pre-Hoth, so I think it's pretty unlikely that he even saw a TIE Interceptor before joining the Rebellion.

It would be really good to have Leia in a Y-wing instead of just on a rarely used crew card. As the only significant female character in the films it'd be nice if she had a presence (even if she didn't fly anything during the actual films). We need more women in the cockpits!

I'd give precedence to some of the named Gold and Grey squadron pilots from the OT, but sure, why not put Leia in the cockpit of something too.

Preferably a ship with a crew slot so she's got someone to help her park it after the battle.

I'm gonna get shot for that aren't I

Marek Steele in everything, because he flew everything at a higher PS than 7, at least when I was in charge. A Defender with him would be nice.

Not my favorite ship, but how about Hutch in a Y-wing :P

probably by Han, he usually shoots first...

anyhow, you could always add her as pilot for the falcon.

a bit OT, I would like a rule where you can switch pilots vs. crew mid flight, even if costs you manoeuvring for a round (or some other penalty) - as a requirement you need a ship where you could use the pilot version of a guy as well as the crew version. you occupy an empty seat with an inactive crew card as long he is the pilot and vice versa.

but I'm getting sidetracked. ;)

I would like to see a Soonter Fel Rebel pilot because he defects to the rebels. An E wing or an A maybe.

As of Splinter of the Mind's Eye (the first EU novel, published in '78), she was piloting Y-wings; in that book her brother got to hang out in the back seat. There's also some mention of her flying Y-wings in some of the comic books. She's a Skywalker, so obviously she has to have some snubfighter piloting ability.

Doesn't look bad in a flight suit either, for that matter.

Grizz Frix, because

Juno Eclipse, all day, every day. Probably on some TIE variant, since the only imperial female representation we have so far is Howlrunner. Unless, of course, FFG chooses to grace us with the Rogue Shadow in the near future...
