so there is a card in the mark II expansion that looks like a star destroyers shield generators and says "enhanced" with what looks like a small shield generator icon for the upgrade type.

ironically the star destroyer does not have this upgrade slot.. weird huh.

this is leading me to believe it is something else? though?

Aren´t you confusing two cards?

One has the image of the SD shield generator, but that says "Advanced (Something)".

The other is probably "Enhanced armament".

Only assault firgate has shiedls uprgade icon so far i think. it has something to do with redirect, like maby take 1 less damage when you redirect or something.

The Corvette also has a shield icon, so it should be able to equip those upgrades as well.

The Assault Frigate also has an anti-squadron upgrade card that hasn't been spoiled yet, that presumably improves its firepower in some way. Hilariously, the anti-squadron card with the VSD seems to improve its squadron command for ordering more Tie fighters.

I'm pretty sure the CR90 has a shield upgrade too.
