Autothrusters, autothrusters, autothrusters!!!!!!!
Scum and Villiany podcast?
I don't know what else to add on autothrusters. Maybe this...
That's a list of upgrades used in the Team Covenant Aces league as a total % of points spent on upgrades. The league has been Scum legal since week 1 (we're in week 8). Autothrusters is the 5th most popular upgrade. It's as close to an auto include as it gets.
Doe anyone have anything they'd like to see covered specifically?
I'd like to see Mission Control eventually covered. May not be on your radar since it's pretty firmly outside the realm of competitive play, though.
Other than that, a discussion of target priority maybe? Not sure if you guys have talked about that sort of thing specifically in the past, but it's a pretty important game concept that doesn't always get a lot of attention.
Xizor is an interesting case study for how target priority can be altered and used to your advantage in a game. (Xizor flies a glass cannon-type ship, but his ability lets him pawn damage off on bulky friends. Is it better to shoot his bulky friends directly, or try to focus Xizor down faster? Can you make Xizor into a damage-sponge by loading him with expensive upgrades and making him a threat that can't be ignored?)
I'll see if that's something we can talk about. Theorist has long advocated for "no good targets" or "all good targets" type of lists to mess with target priority.

And that's with a TWO point upgrade card!
Meaning, we are seeing way more ships with Autothrusters than we are with Advanced Cloaking Device. Or almost any other upgrade, really. Push the Limit is winning out in the absolute sense, but only slightly. And that is an extremely versatile upgrade.
I've missed you guys, too! I'm an avid fan. Totally looking forward to your show. I've held off buying into the new faction except for a StarViper. If anybody can convince me to get into Scum and Villainy, it'll be you guys!

Glad to hear it Mr.Froggies.
I enjoy your show and Nova Squadrons show a lot.
I have the audio but I moved before editing. I will likely have my computer up tonight.
Recording now!
What is your show? I know out the scum and Villainy podcast, but what is your's called?

I knew that? I was wondering if he had his own outside of it.
They have gone dark again. No cast since April. Too bad I really enjoy them.
They are probably just busy with their personal lives. They will be back.
I believe there was a lot of things in motion that made recording and editing difficult. But do not fear, I have faith the boys will be back!
In the meantime, we have not missed a show since we started! We record a new episode this week with a release set for next week!
I had the chance to meet MrFroggies back in Vancouver, and IIRC he said that the person who does their editing was getting married, so not a lot of free time.
Ricky getting married has thrown us for a loop. I still can't believe he put his wedding before the Podcast. We have done a few shows, but we he's our editor, and now those shows are out of date so I doubt they will go live. I know we will get something going soon.
I moved to 300 miles from my home town and took a 10-day vacation to Canada and we didn't miss a show! Ricky's a slacker! LOL!
Just kidding with you Kalvan!
Easy solution.....get another editor. LOL!

It'll be like putting something in a time capsule, I would absolutely still listen to "old" episodes! Sometimes I already do!
I still listen to Ep 4-6 of Kessel Run every now and then when I run out of audiobooks at work. There's good stuff even in dated podcasts. I would say even in dated, unedited podcasts.
We'd love for someone to volunteer to be our sound editor! Pay: awful. Hard benefits: non-existent. Soft benefits: INTERNET FAME.
I have a raw audio file of our latest episode which has been collecting dust since Ricky's marriage/honeymoon.
PM me if interested.
I found Nova Squadron Radio about three weeks ago and listened to 26 episodes already. Must have been clocking about 3 hours a day, maybe more, but I have a reasonably long commute and always try to take a lunch break :-)
I'm going to start listening to the Scum & Villainy back catalogue soon. I think these podcasts are great for newer players like myself and have been recommending them to fellow newer players I know. So please do release them - hopefully you can find a willing editor...
Duke
Duke,
Happy that your enjoyed them!
Oh yeah! I'm a HUGE fan of the show, Ed. I host and edit a podcast of my own about collecting original comic art and I know it's tough to stay on a schedule of releases and find time to record it and edit it and all that stuff. Especially when real life gets in the way!
So big shout out to the hosts and editors of podcasts - and fingers crossed S&V will be back on track real soon! Really looking forward to starting on them once I'm all caught up on NOVA Squadron Radio...
