What are you thoughts? I think we all knew it was coming just its official now!

I wonder with it coming out this year that we will Product coming out when they plan on it coming out since it will be a huge hit before the movies come out.

Also wonder if they will try and main stream more of their games.

I know SWM and E3 was a big reason why I got into that game.

well i guess we will have to wait for gen-con or maybe the starwars convention in may for more news.

will be interestinif these will be totally new games or work with the old ones....

my money is on a force rpg.

Well since imperial assault is pretty new I would bet they give that game so new toys to play with also the RPG I would think gets a part of the mix and the LCG would be another good one to get some love. I am not sure about x-wing getting stuff right away but could be wrong.

If they did make a new game what would it be?

What would be smart is to create a Force Awakens starter set for X-Wing and Imperial Assault. that way you get new folks into the game from the movie sales...

I would observe that FFG will likely release additional content for this at a similar rate to what they did for Descent 2nd Edition. Im sure they will add a Force Awakens related expansion, but I hope they get a lot of original trilogy related content out first. Would be nice to go through the expansions in a fairly linear fashion.

I think it would be nice to see 1 major hoth related expansion, 1 major Endor related, before Force Awaken related expansion comes out. Ideally I would really love to see them treat this like they do LCGs with major expansion with multiple minor expansions then next major expansion.

A Force awakens campaign expansion seems like it would be a good way to get a new version of Luke as a full Jedi Knight/Master released. Along with updated versions of the original cast and updated Stormtroopers and the way the time system works they could be nicely isolated from the original trilogy campaigns.

In fact Assault seems like it would be the easiest of the 3 Star Wars minis games to release new trilogy content for without it clashing with original trilogy.

My poor, poor wallet.

Oh, the humanity!

X-Wing sure, but for IA it seems like a great way to piss off your existing market. Seems to me that the X-Wing model could easily accommodate new starter sets but IA is really geared up for a different model and so a second stand alone core set will be a much harder sell. The other option of releasing both a new base set and an expansion is a recipe for disaster, with confusion, stocking issues etc. X-Wing seems an easy sell, Amarda may well need little to change anyway.

May not be that focused on the films, don't forget currently we're between films, though a second between hope and empire isn't unlikely. They seem to avoid the films as they lock them in with what can do much more rigidly. Hoth is a Prime example, we see the imperial Involvement there pretty much in its entirety, a mission or so possibly but I'm not sure it makes sense as the bulk of a campaign. Endor again Is there really a campaign there? There is only so much we can do there.

I'd like at least one Jedi version of Luke before then, don't forget there's decades going on here, yes it would be isolated but a campaign system that links it would be great, and releasing an expansion that's largely incompatible seems odd this early on. It's a campaign game system with a skirmish mode, leaving the campaign mode split like that has issues. The other Skirmish dominated games seem much better fits for not clashing, as they don't need to interact with a storyline.

Because the original cast are still about for at least 7 games with them the original trilogy still has a lot of marketability so allowing at least one campaign expansion with some compatability with the core one seems a good plan.

For me, FFG has been in "shut up and take my money!!!!" mode ever since X-Wing. I have already squirreled everything away in the "wife doesnt know about it" checking account for Imperial Assault and Armada, I am certain whatever they do for SW:TFA for those games will be entirely awesome and another excuse for me to squirrel away even more.

Nice to know about it ahead of time!

I hope they do a second core set for IA for the film.

If FFG did a big box campaign expansion for the film it would probably have 4 hero's, 7 agenda sets, an imperial class, lots of tiles, models and missions.

All they would need to do is throw in some dice, a rulebook and some item cards to make it playable out of the box like the IA core set.

FFG would sell a lot more if people could just buy the movie tie in stuff without dropping £60 on a second box, once they are addicted they'll buy the rest of the stuff anyway.

As long as it's fully compatible anyone who has already bought IA won't be ripped off.

I look forward to a modern era (episode VII and beyond) campaign. Some new storm trooper sculpts (along with chrome troopers and some female imperials), new heroes to play - new races perhaps.
