Hi folks,
I'm back with yet another list for your comments, criticism and suggestions. I can't promise that this will the last I come up with, but I can promise that I like this one; a lot.
I now present to you -
Fast and Hairy V1.0
Fast
Etahn A'Baht: R2-D2, PTL, Advanced Sensors, Shield Upgrade. (46 pts)
Hairy
Chewbacca: PTL, Nien Nunb, Kyle Katarn, Millennium Falcon, Engine Upgrade. (54 pts)
The upgrades on Etahn basically give him the X-Wing equivalent of 'It Will Not Die' and 'They Shall Know No Fear' (not the watered down 7th Edition ASTKNF, but the good old one that everyone hated
).
I know he can (and will at some point) die, but it's not going to be that easy a thing to do. But above all, it's his ability to change a Damage Result to a Critical Damage result for him or his buddies, that makes you want love him, and hug him and cover him in kisses.
Add in Advanced Sensors and PTL and I can, should I choose to, give him an unpredictability that will throw an opponent off track.
R2-D2 and the Shield Upgrade add to how well he will survive. I know at 4 pts the Shield Upgrade might not be everyone's first, or even second choice, but it's an extra (potentially renewable) shield when coupled with R2-D2.
Chewie. Why Chewie and not Han or Dash? Well, to me, Fast and Hairy sounds better that Fat and Fast or The Fat Doughnut.
Ok, that's only partially true. Chewie's ability to basically ignore Crits is something that needs to be seriously considered, whilst Nien and Kyle (if used properly, and thanks to the folks in the rules forum for this one) give the YT a potential 3 actions in one turn. Add in the Engine Upgrade and the Title, and there's a headache waiting to happen.
So, what are the downsides?
Well, there're only two ships for starters. Both are PS5 meaning that I am more than likely to get shot first.
Nine Shields and ten Hull points, aren't that many, hard to get down, but not impossible.
There are only certain conditions that will allow some of the combos to work, and a good opponent will try to exploit that to their advantage.
I'm sure there are many more, so I'll leave the list in your capable hands and hope that I haven't bored you all with my wall of text.
Cheers
Baaa
