Drain Life's strength

By Baneling, in Talisman Rules Questions

Hi all,

Our game last night descended into chaos at the appearance of the Demon Lord as the alternate ending. The character facing the Demon Lord wanted to use Drain Life to discard the Demon Lord, therefore winning the game, and the rest of us weren't sure that was allowed. The big question was whether or not the Demon Lord could be considered an "enemy" by the terms described in the card.

Drain Life card - "Cast on an Enemy you are about to encounter. Discard the Enemy and heal an amount of life equal to that Enemy's Strength or Craft"

We decided that we'd let you rule the outcome. Any thoughts?

Page 19 of rulebook:

None of the creatures in the Inner Region can be affected by

any Spell, nor may they be evaded.

Well that was a quick fix, thanks very much Hunter!

In addition, the Demon Lord is not an Enemy, but a creature, according to the definitions in the rulebook (check the red box on page 10).

Drain Life is used on Enemies only. They are a type of Adventure Card.
