No, that line of thinking is a result of how much of a headache a named super Phantom is to deal with without higher PS (or turrets), not the other way around.

Which upgrades did you use on Echo?

With Veteran Instincts you attack early.

With the Advanced Cloaking Device you can decloak after an attack.

With Recon Specialist you get two focus tokens. One of these would have saved your Phantom with still two hull on the table.

It is how I prefer Echo, costly but worth it :-)

Thats what i had plus fire control system, think i was just very unlucky with my dice.

i couldn't shot as i moved to get out of their arc's of fire but sacrificed my shooting in the hopes of getting a better angle on them next turn and i honestly didn't think any of chewie's hits would go through! so basically i uncloaked - moved and did the cloaking action.

With a Phantom with ACD and rec specialist I prefer to risk getting shot at with two focus tokens, even going so far as not using either during attack. Just cloak and 4 unmodified green dice gets me killed too ;-)

Try too get in range 1, shoot with five unmodified reds and keep two focus for those that fire upon you :-)

Reds will take care of themselves, greens don't...

It is how I lose Interceptors :-(

Wow! So I thought you had some great strategy on how to beat Echo. But all you did was complain because your dice were bad. Really what happened to you with the rolls is very unusual. These one off instances really show that unless you roll poorly, Echo is one of the best ships of all time. You should have named it green dice suck.

This wasn't a complaint treat and i'm sorry if you read it that way. i actually found the whole situation funny once the shock wore off and i just wanted to share my experiance.

and the blaster actually has mechanics that you can counterplay! :o

Imagine that, a turret you can actually get around with maneuvering and tactics instead of dice. What mook thought of that?

You are right about the Blaster Turret though.

Billiskir - not sure what your point is? Mine was ultimately that ships with turret weapons are not considered OP, yet Falcons Dash and the Deci are.

If you say so...I am not trying to get into an argument here with you...your hatred of the phantom is well documented...and trying to away you would be ultimately pointless...

But this line of thinking is one of the main reasons whisper is the only phantom one usually sees...

"any PS below 9 is worthless" is why the far more maneuverable echo is rarely seen...the phantom may have started it (as it was designed to make higher PS worth taking)...but this line of thinking has led to the proliferation of the named super phantom you hate so...if fewer people thought this way you would see less of the "super phantom"...at least that's how I see it...
