I just got my Tantive months ago and finally get a chance to fly it tonight! Were doing 400 pt armies. I would like some tips for loading out my Tantive and generally play tips for it. Any help is appreciated. Fly casual ner vod!
400 pt Epic game. Help with loadout on cr90!
Han solo crew (corvette can't take a focus action), with Roark as a wingman. That 5 attack range 5 primary weapon is a beast. It's not invincible, yet will take a minimum of 25% of your entire squad. Be careful overloading it.
Don't fill every slot. Han + Weapons are strong enough, though Regenerative upgrades are phenomenal.
Aim to divide their fleet, and use the remainder of your fleet to crush them one half at a time.
Assault Missiles on Z-95s rock in Epic, as the enemy has so many ships.

this is the most amount of points I would spend on a corvette build. I like to charge into the attack with it and cricle it around my opponents. Never try to run away with it then they will have you. Renforce is better the Recover if your going to have a lot of ships shooting at it in one round It also uses no energy. with the quads dont spend the second energy from the card to shoot at a ship agian if you dont have a target lock most of the time it will be a waist of energy.
Good luck and may the force be with you

No single turbo-laser? Those things destroy Decimators, Shuttles, and anything else with low agility.

yes but they cost way to much energy and Decimators and Shuttles are easy to ram ![]()
when the Raider comes out thats when I will use Single Turbo Lasers
Back-up Shield Generator should be an auto-include. Admittedly I've only used it as an Imperial, but getting a shield back without an action is quite nice.
Back Up Shield Generator is great on Quantum Storm, as opposed to just being good. I think that the Engineering team is a good idea, as well. I've heard that broadsides from the edges of the play area is a valid tactic.

I forget who it was that gave me the advice, but it was in this forum, and it served me well. Either set it up as a gunship and make all of its upgrades completely selfish, or set it up to be a command and control ship. Don't try to do both at the same time, you won't have the energy or actions for it.
I tried unloading a few TIE Interceptors, Bombers and a couple of Phantoms onto a CR90. Sadly, without much success. ![]()

There is a sub forum for this kind of topic.
Not really, since im asking about tips and how to fly the thing too
I hate the list aubforum. I knew it was gonna be a bad idea even before they made it.
You sub-forum Nazi's are annoying, go away! You had to skip a post! OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just played a 400 about a week ago and we learned a ton. I would not go above about 120-30 points. I went 150 and it didn't leave enough escorts. I would take one single laser and two quads. Teams I would take sensor and engineer team. For crew Han Solo and Weapons engineer. I think that is 120 right there, I might throw on gas supplies or the repair droid if you have it. Keep the CR-90 behind your escorts. You may think it looks invincible but it can drop very fast. I wished I had run some 3 range turrets with it so that I could combine fire on one target so you might consider that. I think Roark would help too since the CR-90 will shoot first and possibly kill something quickly. Also pan on this taking 5+ hours! It's ton of fun!!!
If you want command and control ship, bring the GR-75. I secong the opinion on omitting single turbos, go quads all the way, your primary can still hammer decimators and shuttles. I also would avoid overlaoding it. 120s is a good range to ive you lots of help. in a 400 point game, you might be able to stretch that to 150, but I don't think I would.
Take han, take engineering team, take tibanna gas supplies.
As for flying it, This is what I want to try. go straight at them, fast. Have your escorts protect your 6. Slam into their formation and then you will have lots of targets on both broadsides, and you will totally screw up their plan. I would snipe with your primary for a round, but when they are closer, but still outside range 3, go straight at them and split them into your broadside arcs. force them to choose between hammering the vette or dealing with the escorts, which should be close on both sides.
I have not gotten to try this yet, but that is my strategy for next time. should put you inside minimum range of some of those torpedoes too.
Sort of on topic but not really.
The only way the sub-forum will work and not look like an empty room is if the forum moderators actively move posts there. Otherwise you run the risk on few answering your post and it not getting much attention.
My build:
CR90 Corvette (Fore) (50)
Han Solo (2)
Single Turbolaser (8)
Sensor Team (4)
CR90 Corvette (Aft) (40)
Weapons Engineer (3)
Single Turbolaser (8)
Engineering Team (4)
119 points. Sit back, fly along the board edge with your broadside to your opponent, get your starfighters in front of it and hammer away at the enemy's low-agility ships from long range. If you've got the points to spare,
Tibanna Gas Supplies (4) and Backup Shield Generator (3)
...can help as well.
If you see rexler, do not let him get close. He can easily cripple your corvette in a single pass. The aft section only has 3 shields, and pretty much any of the aft crits will do serious damage.
I run a pretty slimmed down Blockade Runner and have had good results with it. I've played a lot of epic games, but I don't think I've ever won a single game with the CR-90 that didn't look something like this:
Fore Section:
Wed-15 Repair Droid
Quad Laser Cannons
Quad Laser Cannons
Aft Section:
Single Turbolasers
Tibanna Gas Supplies
Total Points: 116
Occasionally I'll squeeze in Engineering Team for a bit more energy production, but that's it! A lot of people like Han on the Blockade Runner, but I actually prefer WED-15 (not that Han is a bad choice). I prefer to use reinforce or replenish + WEDs ability for increased staying power. Sure the accuracy is diminished but I believe the ships survivability is compensation for this. Also, it eliminates the temptation to bog down the ship with further upgrades (Sensor Team, Weapons Engineer, etc.) to assist with the target locks.
I'm a minimalist when it comes to ship upgrades and it carries over to the HugeShips too.

Sprinkle in some escort fighters and deny all of the actions of Imperals who are silly enough to get in range 2. Rexler can't use that focus if he doesn't have one.

Remember that Huge Ships now start with a full energy load-out for tournaments, as opposed to starting empty in their original rules.
what do you guys think we should do for strategy and list building from now on? I know a huge group on this forums detests lists and strategy with vehement displeasure. and then, some of us, love it and cant live without it.
maybe we could make it a strategy subforum? Heck, even a Mathwing included in there? since, the "bah-humbug, meta-shmeta" folks don't tend to like mathy explanations to things anyway.
honestly really need to try and CR first.. have no idea how it works and how many upgrades can work. I know on the rebel transport i thought i had a slim build.... then it got slimmer and ive never felt better! 40 points for me on the transport only. +10 pts ish only on upgrades.
Then what would become of the General Sub-Forum? I remember when all the fun list building, crowd sourcing, speculation, and lessons learned were on there. Now it's kinda splintered into subsections I am too lazy to click over to.
Except the repaint thread. That is pure gold and no amount of Internet laziness can keep me from viewing its treasures.
