Multiple Shuttle List

By USCGrad90, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Has anybody tried running a list with 2 or more Shuttles?

I know maneuvarability is low, but with a heavy front firing arc and Shield 5 + Hull 5, they can take and give some punishment.

Thinking about 2 Omicron shuttles (21) with Tactical Jammers (1) for 44 pts and then use the 56 remaining for 4 Ties - Howlrunner (18) + Swarm Tactics (2) + 3x Academy Pilots (12.)

Not sure if it will work, but thinking I can use the shuttles to block for the ties and cause some bumping to keep my opponent from having actions.

Any Thoughts?

I've run two shuttles + a Firespray before. My idea was to run the two shuttles in opposite clockwise and anti-clockwise circles, so that they could each fire at the other's pursuers every 180° (or more if they stopped). The Firespray would assist as needed with its two fire arcs.

Sadly it failed miserably! The asteroids got in the way, and then both shuttles died very quickly to concentrated firepower. The Firespray put up a good fight, but was eventually overwhelmed after a hard-fought chase...

I do like flying shuttles though, even if they manoeuvre like a hippo. there's a lot of fun combos that a cannon, systems and two crew slots allow, especially on such a cheap and tough hull.

I've had a lot of success with the under-appreciated Sensor Jammer - it can do wonders when your opponent is stressed (or Canor Jax is nearby...).

I also like to use Anti-Pursuit Lasers and stop when my opponents least expect it - this is especially good when they're trying to k-turn behind my mini-swarm!

not sure two shuttles with jammer and mini swarm would be efficient. it would be hard to continually keep the mini swarm jammed with shuttles. their dials are way different

I don't think I'd ever run a naked shuttle. The value for the raw stats is legit, but the dial murders its viability. Imo, you really need to add some force multipliers such as Vader or FCS + Gunner to make them worth using.

They're more expensive and still bend about as well as rebar, but they're still very incredibly cheap for the raw accuracy they bring. Best of all? Those accuracy buffs are completely action independent, so when you almost inevitably run through an obstruction, bump, or make a red maneuver (several of which will happen every game guaranteed) you don't actually lose out on much.

Another good thing for running multi-shuttles: wingman.

Friend ran a list recently with two OGP with tactician. Two Academies and PTL Soontir. Block city and one arc dodger damage dealer and stress gravy.

Sorry, should have been clearer - I haven't run two + a mini-swarm, but have run one :)
