So When Should We Expect The First Wave 7 Preview?

By FTS Gecko, in X-Wing

Still need 2 scum PS 9's

From what they've said, you may be waiting a while...

Scum has lower PS by design because they are not a military force.

Cad Bane flew this:

I don't think he'd qualify as ps9 though

My bet would be April 1st

May the 4th

I would like to see a title for the X-wings that give them the boost action.

I also would be very happy to see the Assault Gunboat for the Imperials, and the ARC-170 ;)

Thank goodness the internet doesn't have oceans....

we don't have an 'on the boat' wait time...

Unless your unlucky enough to live somewhere with just one provider then you probably have awful loading times.

FFG spoil early because that's when they send the thingamagig out to distributors: we're going to hear it once it's out there. FFG just rathers we hear it from them than via a picture of a merchant catalogue posted on Facebook.

Like this, you mean?

I think the next x wing spoilers will be raider based, with wave seven peeks coming while that's on the boat.

Wave seven the civilian expansion perfect for escort missions, unarmed and good only for getting in the way.

Comes with a BBF-1 Bulk Freighter large ship that can only do 1-forward or 1-bank moves, and the title "FFG Shipping"?

I think then it would have red 1 forward and bank and a green stop

I should really apologise for the above comment. I appreciate FFG and X-Wing far too much to stop to that level of snarkiness. Mea culpa, I'm sorry.

That said, I do really like the idea of a civilian ships (or objectives and obstacles) wave.

You might not be too far off. With Armada, you draw random objective cards before each battle. This way it's not just a 1v1 melee every....single....game.

I like your optimism!

Yes, but scenarios aren't designed for generic 100pt builds.

True, but 'Objectives and Obstacles' could include cards that would be very useful for 6-asteroid-100-pnt-Death-Match games.

As I've said many times on this board - I want more mission and narrative play. However, that just doesn't seem to be the way that this game is being played most of the time, and FFG should try to cater mostly to the bulk of its audience. I do think that they've given people with my (unfulfilled) preferences plenty to work with, in terms of the huge ships, and the missions included in some of the larger expansions. It's really up to the community to make the most of it, or just relent to the hegemony of the 6a100pntDM.

I'd bet that we'll see a 6.5 of some sort before 7. We've had wave 5 and 6 back to back, it's probably time for a ".5" box ala Imp/rebel Aces

It's called the Raider. Based on the SKU sequence it eems their design order is Wave, Non-wave, Wave, Non-Wave. Wave 2, Rebel Transport, Wave 3, Imperial Aces, Wave 4, Tantive IV, Wave 5, Rebel Aces, Wave 6, Raider, Wave 7.

No plan survives contact with the enemy though, hence everything coming out quite erratically.

Seems a bit off topic, but I published a set of 'tournament compatible' scenarios a few months back. They're designed so that you can play them with your standard 100-point lists on fairly short notice, with very simple rules to keep in mind. I especially like 'Junkyard' out of these 4; it looks like a lot of fun to play and I plan to do my next Scenario Showcase on it.

Junkyard

Fleet Engagement

Vendetta

Jump Point
