Minimum suggested purchase for Wave 6

By gundamv, in X-Wing

Nope it's just the two in the starviper pack.

Dem StarVipers are gonna sell out FAST.

Yep s`why I ordered my two early.

I forgot the E-Wing can't boost. Yeah, I think two Autothrusters is almost certainly enough for a Rebel player. Anyone got a good Authruster-Wings squad idea?

Yeah, I think two Autothrusters is almost certainly enough for a Rebel player.

Or for an Imperial player, honestly. How often are you going to run 3-4 Interceptors with Autothrusters? It's 20 points for Alpha Squadron + Autothrusters, and more realistically, 27 for Royal Guard Pilot + Push the Limit + Autothrusters (and very plausibly 30, with Hull Upgrade or Stealth Device). And the Raider is coming out soon, at which point Tempest Squadron will be a realistic and generally more durable alternative to Alpha Squadron + Autothrusters.

I think people buying multiple StarVipers just for Autothrusters are wasting their money on upgrades they're unlikely to use, at least in 100-point games.

My plan:

2 x Most Wanted. Allows me to make maximum use of my existing fleet for Scum.

2 x Aggressor. So I can run a 2x IG-88 list if I want.

2 x M3A. Cannon cards, plus a good filler ship. Might get more if I like them better than Zs.

1 x StarViper. Not a huge fan of the ship; gives enough AutoThrusters cards for any of the Rebel or Imperial lists I'm likely to run.

3 Super Autoceptors will be loads of fun!

Sure, but the marginal cost of that third Autoceptor is $20 if you're not planning on using anything else that comes out of that blister pack.

Three to six of everything in this wave. I find that three is the minimum for all small ship purchases. That way you can play just about any game you can think up.

It is fun.

:D

Depends how much enjoyment you get out of it I suppose*. I'll be running trip Autoceptors at least once, and I prefer not to use proxies, so to me it's worth it :)

I think trip Starthrusters (or is it Autovipers?) could be fun too as well, definitely want to try that at least once.

Soontir Fel (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Autothrusters (2)
Stealth Device (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)
Tetran Cowall (24)
Push the Limit (3)
Autothrusters (2)
Stealth Device (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)
Turr Phennir (25)
Push the Limit (3)
Autothrusters (2)
Stealth Device (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)
Total: 100
I've flown it and it worked very well defeating a list with more than double its hit points.

the auto-thruster is incredible value for any ship that can take it (except maybe A-wings, who thrive more on being cheap), so I don't doubt that autovipers will be a thing

starthruster just sounds like the product of a suicidal lifestyle decision

3 Interceptors and 3 Starviper are both on my to play list:

Royal Guard (97pts):

Carnor Jax + PtL + Autothrusters + Shield Upgrade

Royal Guard Pilot + PtL + Autothrusters + Shield Upgrade

Royal Guard Pilot + PtL + Autothrusters + Shield Upgrade

181th Saber Squadron (99pts):

Soontir Fel + PtL + Autothrusters + Shield Upgrade

Turr Phennir + Predator + Autothrusters + Shield Upgrade

Lorrir + Autothrusters + Shield Upgrade

Still have to try the Starviper to really know how to make it work best but, 2 Black Sun Enforcer with Autothruster leaves you with 46 points to fully upgrade Guri or Xizor, or a Black Sun enforcer, Guri and Xizor all with Autothruster leaves you with 8 points to upgrade Guri and Xizor.

Regardless, they will be fun lists to try out!

I don't see how Rebel players can pass up the BTL-A4 Y-Wing titles in most wanted. Combined with the autoblaster turrets and the bomb loadout, we're basically getting Y-Wing aces in Most-Wanted.

1x Most WAnted

2x MA-3s

1x Starviper

2x Aggressor

At least that's what im picking up

Revised statement.

3 x Most Wanted packs.

Gotta be able to field those 5 x Autoblaster Turret Y-Wings...

...

I've flown it and it worked very well defeating a list with more than double its hit points.

Yeah, that's one I was thinking about. To be honest, I could think of ways of making all the named pilots fun, I could play nothing but Autoceptors for ages!

All the Autothrusters. All of them.

Soontir

- PtL

- Autothrusters

- Stealth Device

Carnor

- PtL

- Autothrusters

- Stealth Device

Turr

- Veteran Instincts

- Autothrusters

- Stealth Device

The Rebels will tremble before their terror.

1x Most WAnted

2x MA-3s

1x Starviper

2x Aggressor

At least that's what im picking up

My exact starting purchase for S&V.

In hindsight, I might have wanted a second Most Wanted and a second StarViper.

Rest assured, more mistakes will be made.

4 Most Wanteds

4 Aggressors

Minimum needed for my 7x Feedback Array swarm.

My poor wallet. :(

I went with two of everything, for my preorder.

I might pick up more if they go on a sweet deal sometime later, but I feel like this gives me everything I NEED.

Currently got on pre-order:

5 - M3A Interceptors

1 - Starviper

1 - Aggressors

Really looking forward to trying out my 5 M3A swarm.

Anyone who has extra autothrusters.... I'd love to have a 3rd copy! or 4th!

I'm personally going all-in with the Scums:

2 Most Wanted

3 Starviper (maybe a fourth one, I have a friend that is only interested in the cards so he would pay a part of it and I would keep the ship, but it might be the third one we buy together)

4 Scyk

2 Aggressor

Already got my mandalorian maneuver templates from Cog'o'two... just need the ships..... aaaaaany day now...... come on.......

Two of everything, one Y-wing, one to two Firesprays if you can find them, and two Hwks. That is the bare minimum to order for Scum.

After that, another Y-wing, one or two more Starvipers, and a few more Scyks will finish things up.

2x Aggressor

I almost did this purchase. It would have got me free shipping from Miniature Market, but I just didn't need the second Aggressor. Well, I don't "need" any of it, but I couldn't justify the second Aggressor.

If I need another Accuracy Corrector, or another of any of the upgrades I will just hope they are in stock when I order the Imperial Raider.
