I wanted to try this list and it actually worked very well

100 points

Nera Dantels, munitions failsafe, adv proton torps,

Wedge, squad leader

Biggs, R2 D2, stealth device

moving in formation ,wedge lets nera use the adv torps in a single turn (even outside the firing arc) for a huge blow on the enemy's biggest threat.

Biggs soaks up the enemy's hits while you manoeuvre into range.

This destroyed a generic defender, advanced, bomber and dark curse tie, and only ended with 4 shields down overall.

With a little less lucky dice rolls I think it could be expensive!

I like it! I feel like stealth device might be a waste, though. He is GOING to get hit.

I'm not sure I understand how wedge helps nera, what do you mean "in a single turn"

You don't need the munition failsafe, an APT with a focus WILL hit anything you shoot at. If you don't have a focus, than you shouldn't be shooting it in the first place.

Also agree the stealth device isn't as useful as a hull on Biggs. I would drop it to give a proton torpedo to Nera so she has a 360 shot at all ranges. A phantom won't get into range 1 of Nera as long as she has the APT.

Advanced torps Nera is going to be a completely lost cause, unless

1.) B/e mod (crew slot)

2.) Recon Officer

3.) Deadeye ept

You get one shot, better make it count.

And let poor Wedge get his action :P (even if you need to get rid of his EPT and Bigg's device)

To those who don't see the combo:
Nera moves, takes a focus.
...
Wedge moves near-last in the activation cycle, guesstimates if Nera is in APT range. If so, uses Squad Leader to give her the TL, if not, then he acts as normal.
...
Nera fires the APT with TL (from Wedge) and Focus (from her action).


I kinda like it. Upgrades on Biggs might not be the best, but hey, if it works...

Most people would probably use Cracken to get the free action, but I don't trust ships with 2 attack dice enough.

Pretty much the only major change I would think about (post-Scum) is trading Wedge in for a BTL-A4'ed Dutch with ICT and possibly Talent Droid and VI - you'd lose a touch of pilot skill from Wedge, but gain some control from the ICT (including the ability to tag your prime APT target on your way in) as well as more action-sharing. It really depends on personal preference.

(and yes, I know I dismissed 2-attack ships and then immediately suggested one...but the BTL-A4 is a different animal)

Of course, you could just slap Fire-Control, Predator, and an Ion Cannon or longer-range torpedo on Nera and call it a day, but that isn't as fun as a cool combo.

I enjoy the combos with squad lists, but the munitions fail safe definitely was a waste of time on apt ; )

I got lucky as the stealth device and r2 soaked up slot of the hits in this game.

These other cards and pilot options sound great, if only I owned all the expansions. Maybe an excuse to spend a little.

I guess I'd rather use FCS on Nera, with APT being range 1 only you are almost sure to be able to attack before the turn you use APT in, then wedge still gets his own action...

When I get my computer back I'm going to ninja this list idea and run:

Nera - APT, proton torp, deadeye

Dutch - ICT, r2-d6, VI

Biggs - hull & r2-d2

So with deadeye I can use my torps even without Dutch (maybe just add b/e2 w/recon?) and his free TL. Biggs tanks for Nera until she nukes the big target (or hopefully 1 shots 2 smaller ships w/the tops lol). I'll report back how it works out.

if you're using advanced torps with deadeye and have found a way to guarantee 2 focus in the least contrived way possible, you should probably take it (i.e recon)

So I played a BBBBZ list last night (my most hated matchup for whatever I'm flying) and managed a modified win after an hour lol I lost biggs (he tanked for 3 rounds and mopped up a Z and punished 1 B). I think moving forward I want to go with PtL on Nera to focus/TL on my own - seems so simple now. And I found a way to run her at 40 points and have 3 prototype a-wings with prockets :D

Nera - APT, proton, PtL

3x protos - prockets

So PtL will make my next move pretty predictable, which stinks, but that will just happen when I need to do my TL/focus or when i need to focus for defense and barrel roll. The 3 protos are there as a secondary threat to nera. In theory, if all 4 ships landed r1 of a full deci, they could take it out in 1 round of shooting. 20 red dice is CRAZY!

I'm going to try this list next to see how I like it. I do love a-wings so it should be cool :D
