Edited by The Professoryup am already a backer (was at ~60%). The products look great and the added bonus is the project is already 3 stretch bonuses in and climbing...:-)
I am an emperor! These are the best looking ones I have seen.
I was interested, even for the basic acrylic ones, but international shipment is $25.00 which is insane! Even though i want to, im not going to burn my hands on that, especially when maybe, possibly very likely also having to face added customs tax.

Yeah i hear you man-I'm UK based and not looking forward to the shipping costs but i just prefer the look of the templates over any others i've seen (and i think the non-slip felt underside is a great idea). This will (hopefully) be my one and only acrylic template purchase so i'd sooner get the ones i really want and live with the ~£16 shipping (i have paid ~£10 shipping on some of my larger orders before now so it's not an insane jump-just not an amount i'd regularly put up with...)
On taxes i'm fairly sure you have a £35 gift value limit* that doesn't attract tax/customs charges so the $40 full colour template set (which incidentally opens you up to most of the free stretch bonuses) will be under that, and they're a gift to yourself right...?
*my fiancee's sister in Canada is always sending us stuff and declaring it's value over the £35 threshold resulting in us getting charged to collect them:-/
the customs info stickers they've put on the boxes quote the £35 limit and i've also had posties tell me the same thing
EDIT: sorry I should point out this is CANADA not US so there may be a difference, I guess a little research would soon discover th exact state of play. On a side note we also get regular Christmas/birthday presents from my American family and don't incur charges so I can only assume there's a not dissimilar case for US intl postage so again any customs charges will likely be able to be mitigated... I'll check out the exact situ when I get home

Nah in my country the limit is more around the 20 euro range, and the mailing company add another 15 euro 'administration costs' bonus to the tax, because they had to pay it for you. And I'm mostly interested in the plain ones, because $15 sounded like a sweet deal. But this one is just not for me. Good for you though to get the ones that you want and back a kickstarter for that.

There is another thread called "acrylic hotness" by a guy in Europe, Germany I think, making v.similar products (I actually prefer some of his tokens), not sure on prices of basic acrylic sets (as I'm more interested in the full colour ones myself) but his prices looked similar too (his full colour set was €22 without the range ruler) so i'd definitely give him a look. I think his website is "mystic" or something-again, when I get home I'll post a (more useful) link...
There are obviously plenty other suppliers of std acrylic templates and there have been threads on those so they may well be worth a look-applied perspective was one that people were recommending from that thread...

Full colour ones are in the pipeline apparently (they do have std acylic ones on the main website but i want the purdy ones...)

Thank you! I did have a look at his templates and am likely to order there. It's a bit more expansive, but it seems to pan out to either get them fairly cheap but with high transport or vice versa.
Sent him a message to see about grouping local orders to save on shipping if we put in the same address. Hoping we can do it that way so individuals don't miss out on the stretch bonuses as they would if we did it all in one order and then save big on the shipping cost.
Edited by stmackI just unlocked the $16,000 Stretch Goal with my $100.00 pledge! Woohoo, acrylic asteroids!

He says that it should be fine, so that's cool. Find 5 guys who want in on it and then shipping is only $5 each instead of 25.
Awfully nice of him. Granted, everything I've heard from people who've met him and/or bought from him at conventions says that he's good people.

Yeah I hope so too. Worth pointing out this isn't his first kick starter mind you (watch the vid, check out his website too)...
he just updated the page with new stretch goals. the $20,000 goal unlocks epic range templates and it's well within reach.
This seems to be be a great one to back. I had been wanting some replacement components for my really worn pieces. These are the best looking ones I have seen.

Huh. I must have just forgotten or missed that, because I watched the video. That's comforting at least.
