I have a quick question for all of you out there.

Do the shadows from such spells as Shadows Gather and Pool of Shadows cause those in the area of effect to suffer any penalties to any melee attacks? Or is it only for ranged attacks and checks that involve vision? My group is not sure and I was curious what the sages of this site say.

Taking Pool of Shadows as example, I would say all melee attacks involve vision (unless a melee action card specifically says otherwise), for that matter so does climbing, jumping, running first aid - many support actions, skill checks etc. etc.
