Mandal Monsters: Scum list

By Rhoaran, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have not seen too many Scum lists in general and very few making use of generic vipers or Mandalorian merc.

STAR VIPER: Black Sun Enforcer (25)

Autothrusters (2)

STAR VIPER: Black Sun Enforcer (25)

Autothrusters (2)

FIRESPRAY-31: Mandalorian Mercenary (35)

Squad Leader (2)

Seismic Charges (2)

Experimental Interface (3)

K4 Security Droid (3)

The merc focuses or evades then uses squad leader to pass an action to one of the vipeRs. The K4 Droid adds a target lock to the merc most turns while clearing stress from interface.

The vipers certainly can capitalize on the free action. And range 1-2 with squad leader is not too restricting for their good maneuverability. Interestingly, the free action will come before the vipers' own movement so it is like having adv. sensors.

I see PS being a problem

If you are wondering about the title, Star Vipers were produced by Mandal Motors.

Let me know what you think.

K4 is 2 points not 3. Other then that I am yet to try vipers so not sure.

The images of the card that I've seen show it at 3 points but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Sounds nice. Very vulnerable to blocking by being forced to do green maneuvers each turn, so I'm not sure how many time you will actually be able to use squad leader.

Other than that, it could be funny to try. I don't know where you get that the ''free'' action come before the Vipers own movement though, they are PS1 and the Mercenary is PS5.

If it was me, I would drop the Squad Leader thing and upgrade the Firespray for a name pilot like Kath or Boba. That's actually a team I want to try.

Black Sun Enforcer with Autothrusters

Boba Fett with Stay on Target +Outlaw Tech + Hotshot Blaster

thanks for the reply. I don't know what I was thinking about the advanced sensors comment. I like your list a lot.

It's Scum Boba meet Imperial Boba! :P

The trick is to use Stay on Target only if needed and to try to get in range 1 of an opponent so you can benefit from your rerolls. The Outlaw Tech makes sure that you'll always have a Focus. Hotshot Blaster is there for that one time that your opponent will have dodge your arc (perfect scenario is him dodging your arc while getting into range 1 for an easy shot and then Bam! you get that blaster out and shoot him with a F and Reroll, that's scum for you!)

I love it. I hadn't considered stay on target with outlaw tech. Brilliant.

Boba will draw a lot of fire, leaving vipers to finish off ships he injures.

This list alteration also lives up to the list name.

I'm not super sold on generic Star Vipers, but I do hope you guys prove them to be much better than I think :)

Maybe that's because I flew a lot with Defenders, but I'm confident about the Starviper. They can pull some nice little tricks by having access to boost, barrel roll, Segnor Loop and all speed one maneuver. 5 hit point combined with 3 agility can do wonders, especially combined with Autothrusters.

Are they good enough for a tournament, this I am not sure yet, but I intend to make them work.

That's the kind of optimism that I want to hear. I agree. They have a lot of things going for them.
