Hello again X-wing fans!
This week we take a look at the only and only Luke Skywalker in his X-wing with the Lone Wolf upgrade and his buddy R2-D2. It’s quite the iconic build that packs a mean punch and proves to be quite hard to kill! As always, let me know what you think in the comments and try out this build for yourself or fly against it. What would you pair him with?
As a side note, I’m fast approaching 2000 subscribers, which is unbelievable. While 2k may not seem like much to some.. it is a huge milestone for me and I’m very thankful and excited for the future of this channel. Thanks again for all the amazing support! Keep spreading the word with shares, likes and posts!
See you all next week and as always: fly casual!

Michiel's Let's Discuss: Luke Skywalker #24
With this combo, I like to pair him with Tarn for a surprisingly hard to kill duo. I switch R2 for R5-P9 on Luke though, because I need the point and this way, he's not bound to green maneuvers to regenerate shields, and thanks to his inate ability, focus is not as needed in defense, so there is more chance that it will still be available at the end of the turn.

Fly Tarn with the Rookies while Luke take the flank.
Lone wolf is my fave EPT right now. I personally prefer a super tanky yet defensive Dash but I can certainly see the strength of this Luke build. I have had games where my opponent has spent most of his time taking out Corran leaving Dash with permanent lone wolf and he is a bugger to kill.
I really don't like Lone Wolf. The whole "works sometimes" effect is what kills it in any non-2 ship list. I'd rather have Predator on Luke to increase his offensive potential because his defensive potential is already better than average because of his ability. Yes, the card makes the ship AMAZING, when he is one of the last ships left. However, tactically, you don't want him to be the last ship. You don't want to rely on your ships getting blown up or having them unable to support Luke/Luke support them for Lone Wolf to work.
Personally, I run Veteran Instincts on Luke because Phantoms and Han are the meta to beat. My stance is still with Predator on any X-Wing with an EPT simply because they are durable, survivable and resilient enough to capitalize on its offensive modifier. I've tried Lone Wolf several times and Luke is either too far out of the fight to matter or he's the last one in the fight getting destroyed by 2 or 3 more ships than him after your force has been wiped out. In my opinion, the situational ability just isn't worth the EPT slot.
Great videos by the way! I'm gonna subscribe to you now! ![]()
Lone Wolf is kind of situational.. and I really didn't like the card at first too.. but it's grown on my - partially due to the fact that there are really some ships out there that benefit from it.
Thanks people!
I have fond memories of Luke Skywalker with Lone Wolf. My opponent flew it. Kept his distance from the rest from the get go and was late for Waterloo, too. As I killed his wing men when they were one X-Wing short, I had enough ships left to deal with Lonesome Luke.

Lone wolf isn't intended to be used on ships in a pack.
