Finally an excuse to get mad when the other players pick droids!

We have two Scoundrel Smugglers in my current group, I'm thinking of branching into Charmer now.

All three specs are so appealing, just from a concept point of view they mix so well with so many other specs.

I have said it before but every time we get a new book i want to start fresh with new characters...

EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Looks interesting, will probably buy. But I wish they'd stop doing talents for things anyone can and will do like buying a fake ID. There was another one in one of the other books that let you bribe people. These are both things that my players will (and have been doing already). The existence of talents for such things just complicates everything.

Quarren doctor. Human fringer. Droid. Just need a female Abyssan pilot.

I have to say I'm really surprised Charmer and Gambler weren't collapsed into one specialization. I was envisioning Lando Calrissian for both specs, but after reading the write-up, I can see the Charmer quality more associated with con-artists, femmes fatale, and people using seduction and flirtation to swindle their targets out of money.

Neat Quarrens.

And no reprints.

I know the feeling - just got the new one (um, old new one) and I'm thinking "boy, playing a Hutt would be kind of cool!"

I'm a bit worried about the Falleen, but that's mostly my group. They tend to use any vaguely defined power as a sledgehammer to get what they want. I can see one or more of them CONSTANTLY using the pheromones to bypass the rules.

The Gotal are good and Quarren don't thrill me one way or the other.

Definitely like the three specializations. I'd be a bit concerned about Gunslinger being too much like a Hired Gun with a pair of pistols, but I think it should work out well.

Now... when do you think it'll get here? I "need" it before my campaign starts. :)

Edit: Just noticed it's been updated to "Shipping" from "On the Boat."

I think in this case it's a piece of equipment described, not a talent. I agree with you about talents like Greased Palms and Sound Investments though, and the Rigger spec from Stay on Target was kinda disappointing in that regard.

I treat is as anyone can do anything, just like the skills system in this game, but having those talents makes it easier (or MUCH easier) to do.

They could not realistically give us the full list of talents, that they planed to make, at the start of this system that. We will just have to expect a lot more of these "But i can already do that" talents in the future, and adjust our games accordingly

****.... I need this one. As soon as it's out, this one is mine! useful for me (A scoundral that will either respec completely into charmer or pick it up as an exra specialization) and at least one other member of the party, a Hired Gun Mercenary based on a wild west gunslinger. So cool!

I neeeeeed the Gunslinger talent tree.

I think Zeltron would make more sense the Quarren in this book but having two pheromone species in one book might cause issues. Given the swarm of pink skinned humanoids in Guardians of the Galaxy I would be shocked if there are no Zeltrons in The Force Awakens. Different directors I know but if Disney likes pink skinned humanoids there's no reason not to include the ready made examples Star Wars has.

I don't get it, who is that?

"Tyrone Biggums" A crack addict portrayed by Dave Chappelle.

My read is that the PC with the talent can pretty much just drop the money and say, "Hey, I just happen to have this fake ID that says I'm not the person these riled-up stormtroopers are looking for and works for the exact situation we happen to be in!" And unlike spending a Destiny Point to do the same thing, the GM can't veto this since it's something the PC paid XP to acquire, where they can say "I'm not going to allow you to have those fake credentials for a Destiny Point."

In that respect, it's not too different from the Utility Belt talent, whose major benefit is removing the GM veto on "Hey, I now have this specific item that will help us advance that wasn't on my character sheet until now."

Interesting to see Quarren as the third species. But given how odd a choice the Gotals were for the Smuggler book (I'd have pegged them more for the Bounty Hunter book personally), I suppose they're as good a choice as any. The Falleen with their Black Sun connections at least make sense.

I would have pegged Gotals for the Colonist sourcebook or an Age of Rebellion supplement.

Getting one blue dice to Deception/Charm checks won't break the bank. I am only guessing what FFG will do for Fallen phermones but no other species so far has an "I win" ability despite previous fluff so I doubt they will either.

I have to say I'm really surprised Charmer and Gambler weren't collapsed into one specialization. I was envisioning Lando Calrissian for both specs...

I'm sure a PC based on Lando would have both specs, and eventually several more...Pilot, Diplomat/Colonist...

I never really thought of the Gotal as "tall and burly" before, but I'm happy to see them at last. :)

Really disappointed to see the obscure Gotal make an appearance in the long-awaited Smuggler book.

Dig the Quarren. Okay with the Falleen.

But that third species should have been Devaronian. I mean, ever since John Ostrander's critically-acclaimed Quinlan Vos tales with the Devaronian smuggler Vilmahr Grahrk in tow? How could a Star Wars fan not include a Devaronian in the Smuggler expansion?!?

Oh well. The Devaronians better make it into the Bounty Hunter book then...

Because FFG has a road map and the Devaronians are someplace else on that map. Perhaps the tattooine region book or a Age of Rebellion book.
