2 Mechanic Questions

Can anyone help me with the following questions please ?

1. Can you assign a soldier with a non-specialised icon (say TEAMWORK icon) to a specialized icon (ie GOLD TEAMWORK icon) ? I am assuming yes, but would like clarification please.

2. When a card says you may add one dice to a given task, does that mean 1 dice for every attempt at that task (ie when pushing your luck) or is it only 1 dice for 1 attempt at the task (in other words only once). I assume it is for all rolls against the task but don't really know ?

I have been through the rules and FAQ and could not find definitive answers to these questions. May have missed it, but do not think so.

One follow-up if I may ? What is the earliest round someone has had the final mission drop (and on what difficulty, in case that matters) ? Does the invasion plan effect this ?

For one: In order to assign a solddier to an enemy or a mission-objective, only the icon itself has to match. The yellow border only decides if you get a bonus-dice for the roll.

For two: I think the FAQ in the app mentions that at one point. You get the extra-dice for the whole duration of the specific task, meaning until you completed it or flunked on the alien-dice.

As for the final mission, I think the invasion plan itself might have some kind of default-round it should pop up on. I've only played a few 2-player games so far, and I think the earliest we got it was either round 5 or 6. Played most of the games on easy, and one on normal, no notable difference so far.

Thanks. I have not played yet, but I did run the app through on EXPERT, just clicking next/next etc, making sure it wall all done in time, but deliberately NOT allowing any missions to be fullfilled, and the final mission dropped on 7.

I wanted to get an idea of how much completing missions makes to getting the final mission early (and if it would drop without any success). I have yet to do the same thing and this time, select all the missions as succeeded.

Perhaps its percentage based ie, every round you get an extra x% chance of it dropping, if you succeed in a mission that chance is doubled (or whatever)? IDK

Thankyou for this. I did look through the FAQ quite extensively, but did not see anything that explicitly said this, then again that could just be my own naivety skewing the meanings of what is being said :) I will go back and re-read anyway, now I understand things better.

Thanks for confirming this. I thought it was 7-minus-missions but did not know how the invasion plans altered things. Worked out the other night that onslaught was shorter, so was not entirely sure what was going on.
