I hate the fact that no one wants to play scenarios, that everyone wants to play six asteroid death match and nothing else, and that soooo many people think that FFG can do no wrong and fail to accept that the Phantom has ruined the game because it is (choose one) Broken, undercosted, overpowered, horrible!

I hate that people try to justify chickens**t tactics or being overly competitive. It's a boardgame, not a sport. The stakes just aren't there. It needs to be fun first, competitive second...otherwise, you're simply good at at wasting your own time.
It's a fine line, but this game is a social interaction. You can't remove that aspect. If you play a game and your opponent walks away hating you, if you're willing to sacrfice social interaction for dominance at a board game, you don't belong here. Go play WoW or Call of Duty and hide behind your headset.

To all opposing or disapproving of this thread, try to understand that there are things about this game that are not enjoyable or make us rage. I can't say I absolutely love everything about this game, and I'm sure Joe Boss Red Seven is the only person online that can say otherwise. If you take a moment and read the comments, such as being upset about not playing as often or not playing certain formats or the scenarios included with the products we purchase, you'll see that there are many reasonable things to complain or rage about that are frustrating to us as players.
There is no simple answer to it all such as "suck it up and deal with it" or "this thread should be locked/deleted/exterminated" because people should be able to vent their frustration. I'm not attacking the game, because I love this game so much. It is hard for many of us to not love Star Wars. Hell, this game could've been any-themed flight path system product and I know for sure that most of us wouldn't be here to play it. That still doesn't deny us, as a group of players and fans of Star Wars, a reason to post our frustration and our RAGE here.
I made this thread so people can come out and post their frustration. To post their rage. As judgmental and as cynical as others may seem, you should post what about this game that makes you feel frustration and/or rage. Think of it as going out some place and screaming out loud at the top of your lungs because you're mad or infuriated about something, and then feeling partially better about it because your blood pressure is lower. Same concept here. Either way, the problems will still be there, but at least you got it off your chest and out in the open and you weren't being called a troll/whiner/crybaby/complainer about it.

This is the biggest disappointment I have with wargaming, and competitive wargaming. Wargame systems will create unique and interesting units with abilities that are not directly about move/offense/defense. Because they are not optimised for move/offense/defense they get no use in those scenarios. By which I mean the only one that everybody plays.
You have arguably the best players in the game but they don't seem to be able to, or want to, play a game outside of KILL. My first girl, WH40K (we're on a break until we can sort things out), had objective control as a primary mission, but that was stale as well.
What I want to see in competitive wargaming, is embracing the idea of different missions, and more specifically of asymmetric missions. Give 2 players 2 different objectives to complete, they have to balance resources to complete mission vs resources to disrupt the enemy.
I hate that JBR7 is the only one who's consistently positive. There should be more folks like him.

Oh I disapprove of many rules and stats and things and stuff in both X-WING & STAW. I just change them to suite my taste. I have ran REAL RPG's for most of my life, and so it is second nature for me to fix rules and have a ball playing out scenarios by myself and with friends.
I am going to have fun with my property in my home... period.
