Double E YT

By Baaa, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi folks,

I'm back with another list and as before, I would really appreciate your input into this. I've been trying for a wee while to get a double E-Wing Squad built that will be half decent. I've tried EEAA and a BEE Squad, however, none of them are quite what I've been looking for.

With this in mind I've been tinkering about and come up with a couple that I'm leaning towards -

Squad 1

E-Wing

Blackmoon Sqn Pilot; R5 Astromech (30 pts)

Blackmoon Sqn Pilot; R5 Astromech (30 pts)

YT-2400

Leebo; Draw Their Fire, Nien Nunb, Engine Upgrade (40 pts)

and

Squad 2

E-Wing

Blackmoon Sqn Pilot; R5 Astromech, Enhanced Scopes (31 pts)

Blackmoon Sqn Pilot; R5 Astromech, Enhanced Scopes (31 pts)

YT-2400

Eadon Vrill; Dash Rendar, Engine Upgrade (38 pts)

As before, comments, criticisms and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Baaa

I saw a friend do great things with Blackmoons with FCS and R7...

not sure vrill would be efective without some sort of stress causing agent

why not Leebo with determination?

Not sure I see the point in R5 on a non-unique (no pilot ability), 2 hull ship?

I'm kind of with bungalow - I'd suggest either r2 or r7 astros for generic astro upgrades. r2 for greens galore and r7 coupled with a FCS to have a pseudo Tarn build. I love my E-wing that I have, but I always have struggled fielding it because of it's cost! I ran a blackmoon w/adv sensors, hull upg and r2-d2 the other night and it was fantastic!

I had great success with my Blackmoon w/ FCS + R3-A2 at Gencon. Given it was coupled with Roark, but still. A phantom is not nearly as maneuverable when it's doing 2/3 straight, or 2 bank. The FCS was nice against large ships as it allowed me to evade as my action, and still modify my attack.

That said, I'm loving Corran Horn. I would think you could maximize him as one E, and then go with a Knave and a BlockORS as the second. Maybe something like:

Knave w/ FCS

ORS w/ C3PO + MF

Corran w/ VI R3A2 FCS

Now you have an answer to phantoms in Corran w/ stressbot at PS10. You have an answer to fat turrets with two FCS (er 3 due to double tap) 3 dice attacks. And you have an answer to rebel control lists by blocking with your damage mitigating ORS. Plus, he acts as kind of a tank. You can't leave him until the end because he mitigates just as much as a 62 pt Han, but you don't want to shoot him first because he's the least of your concerns from a damage output point of view.

Hi folks,

Many thanks for the replies, comments and suggestions; they're much appreciated.

The reason I took the R5 upgrade is simply that it was a toss up between that and the R2, and the R5 won.

Having looked at what's been suggested I've tweaked the list a bit and come up with this. I didn't manage to get a game today, so I was unable to fly either this or my BAAA Squad.

So, without further ado, here's my updated Squad -

E- Wing

Blackmoon Sqn Pilot; R2 Astromech (30 pts)

Blackmoon Sqn Pilot; R2 Astromech (30 pts)

YT-2400

Leebo; Determination, Nien Nunb, Engine Upgrade (40 pts)

As before, comments, criticism and suggestions more than welcome.

Cheers
