Looking to recruit 1 or 2 players for weekly SAT sessions

By MorbidDon, in Rogue Trader

Hey Fellow Gamers...

I'm running a Saturday Rogue Trader "day" game (east coast time, NYC) - it runs from 12-Noon to 7pm...

We use Skype and Fantasy Grounds (I have a Full License so I can host Players without the need for them to buy the actual software).

I was looking to recruit for the Emperor!

Granted I will state upfront - I play with Houserules, though they all be contained in one PDF for players to digest and to have at hand... The other caveat to consider are changes made to the Lore (aka fluff, canon) - which mainly focus on replacing certain xeno races. (no kroot, no stryxis, no rak'gol)

We looking for 1 or 2 players, preferably those who know the 40k setting (all of our other players except for 1 guy knows the setting well; it'd be nice to mix the group up with some more people who actually knew the setting)

Currently our group has met and played since June 2007, and enjoys a consistent following of avid participants. Of that our players have embarked upon dire circumstance which through the course of play has led to a long spanning and ever increasing story arc.

Out take on the setting incorporates both Pulp and Purist styles – a balanced approached has been taken, both of which are described in detail below:

Purist
The Purist style aims at intellectual horror and cosmic dread, detailing ordinary people’s futile struggle against the unknown. Death and (more importantly) insanity are not only constant threats for purist characters, they are almost inevitable.
Pulp
The Pulp style is intended for a more adventurous, thrilling location style of play, where brave heroes battle the denizens of the Galaxy. Though danger is certainly present, pulp characters are more able to survive the horrors they encounter.
Summary: So if your open minded, willing to learn and have and aren’t sensitive about character loss – then drop us a response and we’ll get back to you and see if we’re a good fit for one another.

Our pool of players come from both friends we’ve gamed with and correspondence we've had while chatting online with fellow enthusiasts, we prefer to screen all potential players before offering an official invite...

We accept players 21 and over (Mature Themes)

When: Saturdays mainly from 12 noon till 7pm

Flavor: Dark, semi-horror, high adventure

Slots are limited, we can work a rotation if necessary (Perhaps you can only show for 1 or 2 weeks out of the month, let us know)

Ideally were looking for committed players who are looking for long term play...

We look forward from hearing from you soon!

I would love to. Seriously, I would. But I checked; The start time for you is 4 am on a Sunday for me. No offensive, but I am not getting up at 4 am.

No sweat Senshuken,

Maybe another time when the stars are right...

If I do another time schedule that more closely aligns to you I'll send you a message in the future.

Stay Gaming!

I am definitely interested, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it. Right now my schedule is erratic, and I frequently don't have Saturdays off. That hopefully will change within the next couple weeks, so please at least keep me in mind. I'll let you know more when I do.

Hey Savage,

Good to hear from ya - keep me posted with and when your schedule would allow you to play, I'll do my best to keep a slot open for you. See you at the game table!

What do you expect from players as a GM? To have fun and to challenge the GM to think - the best thing you can do in my game is surprise the GM with good ideas that trumps his challenges while invoking the true spirit of the Imperium...

At the end of the day - just fun!

What do you not want? rules lawyers, combat monsters, min/max, etc.

No Glass Cannons, No Munchkins, No Snowflakes, don't mind Rules Lawyers if they can adopt our Houserules and help us adhere to them LOL

Any warnings or disclaimers you feel will help attract the right players and weed out the ones that you feel will not fit or be fun in this game.

If you want 100% official canon-esk campaign - you should look further - our campaign focuses on the Rogue Trader and his Cadre from a Human perspective; tending to focus on the mundane and those things which serve to complicate matters which then may well graduate into a new grander scheme requiring the Players Attention. With that there are no references to characters in the lore, nor will you meet such rarified individuals as YOU the Player are the focus and all else is stage dressing...

Link to Gamecalendar page: No Calendar Page - just know it goes down every Saturday despite your belief in the Emperor!

Stay Gaming All
