Accuracy Correcting Doom Shuttle (aka what's worse than doom?)

By gamblertuba, in X-Wing

Never considered using Accuracy Corrector as an Accuracy Inhibitor.

Some one brought up the idea with a B-wing with munition failsafe and flechette torpedoes with AC. You fire the torpedoes to cause stress which you cancel all dice and do not add 2 hit. You attack does not hit triggering munition failsafe which lets you keep the torpedo. Put that on Nera and you got a stress doughnut.

Might be worth it in an epic game.

double post, but I might as well back up my reasoning with rough math while the ac+gunner is more points in epic its goes from 32% of your list to 10.6%. Against an unshielded ship the prospect of inflicting two direct hits on a target is kinda appealing the chances of that happening though is probably only around 15% someone else can crunch the numbers to be sure. I think also one of the reasons the doomshuttle works so well is because of the psychological advantage. People see Vader on the table and they freak out (okay maybe not the hardened tournament vets but your average player) now there's a Vader in the fish tank that has a possibility of doing a double critical. That's one of those ships that if I saw it across the table from me id want gone. Tactically it sets up some interesting formations like sending in your initial wave of fighters and after they k-turn trapping your foe in a kill zone between your lagging behind shuttle and the ships that just k-turned. Someone cleaver might see it coming and think well do i go for the shuttle(probably undamaged) before it makes an elite pilot have a real bad day leaving my back open to all the fighters that just flew past me or do i k-turn as well and face some other the fighters that are probably already damaged?

100pt lists

Doomshuttle vader+ac+gunner 32pts

Whisper acd+vi 37pts

Soontir Fel autothrusters+elusiveness 31pts

or maybe run the doom shuttle along with a mini tie swarm or even a Decimator we are in the two ship meta so saying that a third of your points being spent on one ship isn't that outlandish.

Might try it out in my next 100pt game anyway.

Hell in a 300pt game I might just put Vader in the patrol leader or even ... a raider!
