Apocalypse Shuttle does not exactly roll off the tongue but...

I realize that 32pts is a lot to burn intentionally but holy cow what an alpha strike. The idea hinges on the wording of accuracy corrector.

Granted FFG may change the card or the interpretation but the second portion clearly says "you may add 2 [booms]"

On your first attack, you choose to cancel all your dice and choose not to add 2 booms. Vader. Gunner. Second attack you either take your results or use AC and maybe do some damage. Vader Again. Of course you have taken four damage yourself but wow have you ruined a phantoms day.

Could be worth slapping a few crits on soontir, but given all the shielded shields that are going to be coming along with auto-thrusters (remade advance, aggressor, all the old ships with scum paint jobs) and the fact that fatties aren't going anywhere...

I would love to fly against someone whose self hurting a 32 point ship

Never considered using Accuracy Corrector as an Accuracy Inhibitor.

Wow, I didn't notice the "you may" part on the AC. While it is an interesting combo, its a lot of points on something that you are likely only able to get off once. No one would let you do this twice in a row. That Shuttle will be dead.

I do like AC on the shuttle though. Add an engine upgrade and for 28 points you have a pretty mobile ship that can throw out consistent damage.

That's not a problem. Get in all of it's free hits before it loses the next 3 round trying to turn around, but typically gets blown up instead.

Under the right circumstances this could be extremely deadly but chances are that it will be too expensive to be much good.

If those 8 points can wipe out something like Fel just by being in arc once, how many points did you A) remove from your opponent, and B) save from your squad by removing a heavy hitter? It's not just fel either, any ship you can drop shields on will get absolutely wrecked by 2 guaranteed crits

But for 32 points, you could have bought your own Fel with Autothrusters.

It's just an incredibly situational hyper counter that costs the same as multipurpose kill everything aces (like auto-thrusters Fell, as pointed out, and also actual pilot Vader). The vanilla doom shuttle is a much safer investment that is appropriately costed even as a 3 die attack platform and it does not skew your list towards one particular matchup.

You just spent 8 points on a ship that you are going to kill yourself. For 32 points I can have a TIE Defender and have 2 points left over for upgrades.

Yes you can inflict 2 crits in one turn, but you take 4 damage. That is almost half killing yourself on the first turn.

Now I think the doom shuttle is fine without this but the buzz saw might like this. Too often, you get junk rolls with the buzz saw and this would add predictability to the damage, and of course, if you roll better than 2 hits you don't have to use it. It also opens up the chance to use EU more often. Might be worth a try.

It's incredibly stupid...I love it.

That's pretty nice. I still think I'd get more mileage out of Tactician on the same build with less risk though.

What about:

Munitions Failsafe + Accuracy Corrector + Flechette Torpedoes

Give up your attack and target lock to give out stress?

Or you ditch the munitions failsafe on a B-wing and get a gunner to give a stress and then another attack. Something like

HLC + Gunner + AC + Flechette Torps gives you a 4 attack flechette torp.

Most of these cannot equip Autothrusters, only ships with boost. Interceptor, A-wing, StarViper, IG2000.

Nera+Deadeye+Flechette+Accuracy Corrector+Munitions failsafe=(if it doesn't get FAQ'ed away) auto stress in a 360 range 2-3 bubble. That's cool...

I don't mean coming along as in using auto-thrusters, I mean coming on the same boat as auto-thrusters (or later in the Raider's case)

The forums gone a bit gaga for the good Baron and this much needed upgrade, but there's a fair bit more headed our way that tech such as Darth Vader is not really well suited to handle.

I thought this meant you could use Vader after the first attack, but not after the second (i.e. the second attack grants from the Cluster Missiles, or the extra attack granted by Gunner, if you miss the first). I don't fly Imperial, but have I been looking at this wrong?

Generally they'll outright say "you can only use this once".

I think that FAQ line is because people thought you could only use Vader after going through the entire attack phase for that ship..

Hmmmmm... Not sure. Entry does not say "only after first attack" but you may be right. I read that as explaining how Vader works when his ship is nearly destroyed. Not as a restriction on uses per turn.

It's cute, but not a very good way to run it.

Very broadly, Vader is good for either finishing off a ship you just shot at, or putting a crit on a ship that has the potential to drastically swing the battle.

Using him as a primary source of damage, for 1/3 your squad is just bad.

I think with autothrusters incoming and likely a big rush of dogfighters with low hp and high agility, this could easily make it's points back well, though the accuracy corrector seems excessive since you're not likely to hit anyway if you save the action for attack #2, vader and gunner could be strong. What does it matter if it kills itself in 2 turns, the dogfighters would kill the rest of your army while you turn around and dodge you with ease once you do.
