Because I'm pretty sure it used to say that only the starfield mat was legal for Premier level events. Now it just says both mats are legal for tourney play. I definitely think that's a good thing. Maybe I just misunderstood the article before, but I'm pretty sure the wording has been changed.
Edited by DagobahDave[FFG Play Mats] Both mats are legal for Organized Play; did the article change?
Wouldn't be the first time, I remember they changed the name of the A-wing title to A-wing Test Pilot after they put the first article out. I think the first name was Prototype Pilot but I don't know for sure.
That's actually what it said originally.
It was pretty quickly changed to only have the starfield map 'tournament legal'.
But, yeah, it's back to the original version, now.
LOL @ FFG...guys, seriously, make up your minds...
The have changed the stats on the Armada ships seemingly every article. So yeah, they do like going back and editing their articles.
I don't see why the death star one wouldn't be legal in organized play... They do want to sell these things don't they?

Prototype Veteran.
I don't actually get why they changed it, the original name was so much better.
Veteran doesn't make sense for a PS 1 pilot.
And you can't put it on the PS1 pilot.
Prototype Veteran.

It was creating confusion with Prototype Pilot, like in the post above.

Pound for pound, a PS 1 Prototype Pilot is probably at least the equal of PS 5 Biggs Darklighter when it comes to "piloting prowess" but A-Wings are very high-performance craft.
Car analogy: If you're an average driver, you might be great at driving your Toyota at 70mph but unless you've had some high-speed driving training you're probably not going to feel nearly as comfortable driving a Lamborghini at 150mph.
Edited by DagobahDaveActually a Lambo at 150mph drives like a normal road car at 80mph. Get up around 200 and things get a little more hairy. ![]()
But an average driver in a high-performance car doesn't suddenly have a quicker reaction time or get better at anticipating and avoiding obstacles at high speeds, no matter how smooth the ride is. In fact, they get worse.
