Boomewook

So our wookiee marauder wants a boomerang. I didn't see one anywhere, so we homebrewed. I dont think it breaks anything, but im curious to see what others come up with, or did I miss it anywhere?

Of course the best part was coming up with all the ways to name a wookiee boomerang...

Would the Wookiees use a boomerang? Not a huge amount of space in among the trees to make such a weapon practical I wouldn't have thought.

Well she's not amongst the trees right now, so I figured why not. Some decent rolls and it could be fun. And that's the whole point, right?

Give it a trait of "Return" which only applies if you roll more failures than successes. After all if you hit something it pretty much looks like a thrown stick, it will just bounce off the target and hit the ground. For 2-3 advantages the boomerang can return to somewhere near to the thrower and maybe for a simple action be picked up and thrown again.

Keep in mind there are three "basic" types of boomerangs.

1. A decoration with aboriginal art painted on. You get these in souvenir shops and if you do throw them odds are they don't fly and probably hit the ground and smash into little match sticks.

2. The "tricked up flying type" basically a boomerang version of a Frisbee, these are the ones that the guys throw and catch as they return. Now unless you get a splinter these are probably about as dangerous as a Frisbee.

3. The weapon. This is a cross between a device that flies and a club. The idea being to throw it at the target and brain the poor beast so you could eat it. Because the club is "slightly aerodynamic you can throw it a greater distance than just a club, but you don't expect it to return to you.

Now a wookie on a walkabout - that is something that would be a very cool role playing idea.

There is an Aussie Fan Video floating around, your Wookie may find it helpful to get into the mood. Here

I would also expect that just about everyone will need some help in understanding the slang. They have a glossary Here

And just 'cause I have always wanted to do it. Love the bad guy: Darth Drongo, could ya get more bogan?

Good idea.

Mechanically you could treat it like the "lightsaber throw" talent, slightly modified.

"On a miss, spend two [Advantage] to have the boomewook return to your hand"
