This is a Byakhee I drew for fun (haven't colored yet obviously). I might make a little encyclopedia of drawings I did myself, Just for fun. So I want to ask - which monsters are your favorites? I'll draw those next!
Arkham Horror Monsters (My Art)
That's awesome! It makes my pitiful attempts at miniature painting look like monkeys painting.
I used to play Warhammer 40k so I painted a lot of minatures in my day, but I sold them all. That talent just translated into repainting doll faces here: http://atfexdolls.deviantart.com/art/Monster-High-OOAK-510427354
But this is digital art I've drawn in photoshop. Hopefully I'll color it soon! What monster is your fav Jason?
Also I'd love to see your minis!!!!
Edited by sgtkneecapsOoooh. That's a tough one. I like the Star Vampire (cool name too) followed by Formless Spawn, Hound of Tindalos, and Shoggoths.
The doll you painted is amazing. I wish I had any artistic talent whatsoever.
Thank you I'm so flattered! And I'll definitely getting to drawing those
Wwweeeeeee. I like putting my own spin on things within reason of course
Absolutely stunning! Great job, Arkhamaniac!
I agree. When I said it is awesome, I was not doing it justice. This is outstanding. Your proportions are beautifully balanced and it looks professional. If you aren't doing this for a living, you should start. Immediately.
Oh my god, thank you guys. Really that means so much to me. Sadly I don't do this for a living :c I'm a full time student and rarely have time to just sit down and draw anymore.
Those dolls are great. Can I ask, why use Photoshop instead of Illustrator? I know you can get better effects quicker in Photoshop, but for the initial drawing, wouldn't Illustrator be better, that's if you have it of course!!
I draw on a tablet in photoshop, just like I would draw on paper. Its freer and instead of using effects, I digitally paint everything the way I wan't to. Plus, doing the outline in photoshop is more fluid.
Ah, you use a tablet, that would explain that. And yes Photoshop is a lot quicker and in some ways easier to get texture and effects than Illustrator. I tend to use Illustrator to design logos, artwork as it scales better, being vector based. Then if needed take it into Photoshop to add any effects etc. or just straight into Indesign if its just basic drop shadow, bevel etc.
