R5-D8 is almost mandatory on Porkins, in my mind. It clears the damage he can take from his own ability. It also clears the damage he can take after being hit normally.

It's just more situational than other EPTs. Not as much value per point as things like Predator.
I mean, it can probably win you some games, but it isn't often that you want to change directions.
Good card though, and probably SHOULD see more play.
If Stay on Target was released during wave 3 (when it was conceived), it would have been great. But in the current turret/Phantom meta, it falls to the wayside.
But wave 6? Anything Is possible.
Doesn't work. When two different effects apply, the negative one wins.
This is not really true.
When you have two different effects that change the difficulty of a maneuver, the one that makes the maneuver more difficult wins.
Which is not the same thing as saying the negative effect wins. Also it only applies when talking about difficult of a maneuver, it is not a general rule applied to all situations.

Is SoT worth giving up PTL on Keyan?
Is SoT worth giving up PTL on Keyan?
Depends on your preference. SoT helps you target exactly who you want to target (if they aren't PS8+), while PtL helps kill whatever it is you shoot at. PtL is a guaranteed Stress, SoT is a fairly likely chance of stress (might be guaranteed if you can change your maneuver to... the same maneuver, making it Red).
The real question is: How well do you know B-Wings, and your opponents? If you are good at guessing your opponents moves then SoT might be wasted on you. If you are fighting strangers then SoT might help you out (a Focused attack is better than having a TL and focus, but no-one in your arc).
Its personal preference. I've yet to have much chance to try out SoT Keyan, but I think PtL will end up working better for me (plus it is cheaper by 4 points).
Is SoT worth giving up PTL on Keyan?
I don't think Push the Limit is all that great on Keyan, actually. He doesn't have enough actions by default: a focus token usually just duplicates his pilot ability, and you don't necessarily want to barrel roll every round.
(You can increase his available actions with Lando or Saboteur or Engine Upgrade, of course, or make the focus token worth more by adding Jan Ors. But now you're paying 6 points or more...)
Stay on Target is cheaper and (in conjunction with Advanced Sensors, which you probably had with PTL anyway) gives you more maneuvering flexibility. I still like Opportunist better, but if you don't like that card or don't feel you can activate it often enough, Stay on Target is great.
Soontir Fel might be an interesting choice. Moving last might make SoT a viable alternative to PtL. Especially with autothrusters the ability to avoid firing arcs and still have a focus could be useful.
Really sums up the whole issue with SoT. Its all mights and coulds while other EPT's give guaranteed results.
Is SoT worth giving up PTL on Keyan?
I say yes. He still gets his pseudo-focus with a much smaller chance of bumping/not getting a shot/whatever bad thing could happen
anyone who can stack int agent with an ept deserves to at least consider sot
Unfortunately, Keyan gets the undoubted most use out of it thanks to his ship & ability. Only phantoms get close with their system and crew slot, but no one's using it because it blocks acd.
Ibs might enjoy it.
I think I'd rather run PtL so I can have multiple actions. Barrel rolling and focusing plus the mini-target lock from her ability is killer. I guess you could argue that using SoT is equivalent to barrel rolling, but ... I don't think it would be quite as good.

I like Keyan with SoT and an intelligence agent. He doesn't have to have PS 9 to outmaneuver PS 9 ships.
I'm dead set on trying it with high PS Awings like Jake with the Test Pilot upgrade. I don't like it as the sole elite talent on a ship but if paired with Opportunist, Predator, Outmaneuver, etc on an Awing I think it could be fun for those times when having an arc on a specific defender is critical.
I think the ability to K-turn as one of the options is pretty important to SoT, so it suits ships like the B-wing and to a certain extent the Firespray better, than say something like the X-wing or Y-wing.
I don't think anyone mentioned it, but SoT is pretty good on Tetran Cowell, where he can use it to choose one of 11 different maneuvers. He can't do it every turn, like Farlander can, but I still think it is still pretty interesting. It gets better with Autothrusters because he is less likely to suffer from the lack of PtL turtling. Unfortunately for him, he really needs to be able avoid all arcs. Paired with a Fleet Officer he might be ok.
that's probably the biggest issue with SoT, it can't be used every turn normally
Apart from Farlander, there aren't many pilots that can effectively abuse it because there aren't many that can shed stress by themselves. Those that can, such as Jek, are of lower PS relative to the current PS 9+ fad and, unlike Farlander, can't take Intelligence agent on their ships.
Contrast with Push the Limit, which can be used every turn if the chosen ship performs a green maneuver and thus trigger synergistic upgrades such as Kyle KAtarn.
SoT can be used every round but it requires good planning on the controller's part, it's achieved through the Wingman EPT.
And may require some tricky close-formation flying.
Although GSP A-Wings and higher are the exception as they can take both Wingman and SoT.
Edit: it's still tricky with the A's but it is easier to pull off with them.
