What do you keep/transport your ships in?

I looked around the boards and couldn't find any discussion of recommended storage options.

I currently have two Plano brand containers (3870 & 3650) I got at Walmart. They are just about full and it's time to think bigger as I just ordered a bunch more ships. I was thinking of getting one of these: http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?BCCID=114&PID=663

The problem is I just ordered the Tantive IV and I don't believe it would fit in something like that. What to you big time players with lots of ships of varied sizes use?

Apparently you didn't look hard enough. Can't go too many pages without finding a discussion about storage. I use a Plano 732 tacklebox which has enough room for more ships in the third large compartment (which will be used for S&V). Works well for now but I will need something else to store my Huge ships when I get those.

At the moment, I've got my small collection stored inside the starter boxes. I'm probably going to have to pick up a couple tackle boxes, though, since between x-wing and my Necron's cardboard container starting to tear I'm starting to need a lot more miniatures storage.

I have two KR multicase transport bags and one Feldherr MAXI. Had the KR's for a while and decided to try out Feldherr and let me tell you:

Feldherr wins hands down!

Slightly older, (Pre-Wave4) but here ya go:

Thanks for all the advice. That 1374 box looks a lot better than the one I had picked out! I'm going to go with that.

Might I suggest going to get it from a sports store in the fishing section? They normally have a number of Plano boxes there. Each one has different trays in it. I went and opened them all up and looked at them all. No one was around and I switched some trays around. ^_^ I was able to get some trays that were all in rows and some that had some open spaces for the big ones.

Thanks for asking this question, Jremy75. Good advice/suggestions here, thank you.

Hey guys (and gals, respectively) ~ This exact tackle-box is on sale right now online at www.walmart.com for $29.99. Oddly, you would think Northern Colorado a great place to find a tackle-box, but I really only found one sporting goods store with a decent selection and they wanted a whopping $50+ for it. I'll wait for it to be shipped to save $20.

On another note, Cabelas online has this tackle-box also on sale for $29.99, but saying it's normally priced at $62.99. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, so maybe you can find it normally priced at $30-$40 on any given day, but - if not - I thought I would share.

I got the 1374. It is awesome. Plenty of room for me to expand my squads. Thanks again for all the advice.

This is a nice set up. I would like to see a updated video with all the new ships that were released with scum. I prefer a system that uses drawers.

I use my boxed set for rules, tokens, range rulers and damage cards

A star wars lunch box for my minis and dials

2_zps12jtpmwy.jpgA empty lootcrate box for my large ships and bases and has enough space to hold the lunch box

All my pilot cards and upgrades

[in regards to the above post because I'm too lazy to quote and redact the pics]

OH LORD THE CHAOS! ALL THOSE SHIPS THROWN IN THERE ALL WILLY-NILLY!

LOL it's only temporary, they don't move around much I have only brought them out that way twice since my friends started to get interested (one of them bought all the waves and battle boxes and can't find anything)I'll be getting a tackle box soon.

My storage solution for up until scum came out. I can fit a 5th plano case into the bag, plus there is room around the inside for two card boxes and a card folder. The small pouches carry the extra case dividers and my paint markers, the front pouch has pens and all the rulesheets. The back pouch holds my GR-75 and large ship bases.

When scum came out I picked up a smaller case from walmart. It is a green case with 4 smaller plano cases in it (not pictured). I paid $25 for it and it holds my scum stuff in one, my extra tokens in case 2, my numbers and card packs for playing, and an empty case for expanding. Dice and play token packs are in the front pouch, while my laser level is in the side pouch.

WOW I forgot about this page I have upgraded to a tool box that I got at harbor freights for $10 I think, but after getting the new core set it seems I need to upgrade again (most likely to the plano 1374, I will post pics when my camera is done charging.

EDIT: Updated with Pic links so as not to blow up the post.
