debris tokens in tourney play question

By droz69, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So I know the tourney faq says asteroids, but the debris rules state you can substitute debris for an asteroid when setting up play. Which is right? Why wouldn't debris be allowed in this case?

You kind of answered your own question. Current Tournament Rules only permit asteroids.

In casual play, you're free to do whatever you wish, so you can use debris fields.

It should be fairly easy for FFG to allow debris fields to be used in tournaments. Let's hope they do so in the next rules update.

I would imagine the next update to the Tournament Rules will address this, as the current set came out before the VT-49 and YT-2400 were released.

The tournament rules also specify you must field a Rebel or Imperial list, so they will need to be updated for Scum

Interesting,. so if Scum were to release in the middle of store championship season, then you could not, in fact, use any scum and villany ships...hrm...

If we really wanna get technical going by the "Legal Products" section of the rules we could use any of the upgrades, that aren't an illicit or Scum only, that come with Scum, in the remaining Store Championships, once they are released.

Exactly, upgrades available to Rebel or Imperial squads would be legal, but using an actual Scum squad would be illegal in a tournament.

Just like upgrades from huge ships are legal even if the ships them selfs are not.
