One good thing about early previews is we get to use it on vassal thanks to the good folks who update it for people like me
Thanks again vassal guys (muon and anyone else who helps him)

No that is actually a bad thing. It means you have out played the wave before it even got here. Also it gives you an advantage over the players who dont use vassal, screwing up with the balance on your local game nights.
I don't understand, that - knowing how hard to predict it is - why they do not delay announcement until the miniatures are actually on the way to the stores with NDA's to prevent spoilers. Imagine...

As someone who doesn't /have/ local game nights, waves are released when they hit VASSAL, and that's fine since I don't have to get an ulcer waiting for the special boat.
Unfortunately my LGS closed down
I did purchase from whenever I could but we are too small of a town I think.
What site does MM stand for?
MM = miniature market
It seems rather hopeful to get them next week considering the dockworker strike that is going on.
for the most part I love the way FFG does this.
I really like knowing what is coming and what its capable of.
with the product flying off the shelves even though it had been spoiled for months is a testament to the game.
now, some of you may recall my impatience over wave 5. I consider that an exception, as they had copies of them at GENCON but the rest of us didn't see them for months afterward. that, I felt was a slap to all the fans who play this game who couldn't for any number of reasons make it the the CON.
I only have GW to compare this to, where everything is a huge secret and snippets of info get "leaked" before the release. and then when their stuff finally comes out, its garbage and you don't realize it until after you bought it.
I like the approach FFG has taken to inform its gamers, do I want this stuff now, sure, but I will wait because I know its gonna be cool and I am really glad I stopped playing 40K.
I have no problem with the inaccurate time scales - it's only a prediction, not a promise. Maybe they could put a note on the upcoming page (or make it more prominent if there already is one) to remind people of that
I agree it would be lovely to get the spoilers a lot nearer the release (and a lot later after the last lot of ships arrived). I haven't even got Autothrusters yet and already X-1 has stolen a bit of their shine!
I have no problem with FFG being wrong from time to time on their predictions, but we have a pattern. EVERYTHING I have wanted to get from FFG (right down to their taking over of Dark Heresy from Games Workshop) has come out late.
FFG first release date is usually off by as much as 6 weeks. The original X-wing game was months and months late. I seem to remember something like 6 months late, but I don't remember the details exactly.
My gripe is that FFG is Consistently late.

Surely consistently late is perfect, you know exactly when things will really come out! ![]()
As a new X-Wing player and an ex-Heroclix player I'll just say this - They're better than WizKids.
I realize that's not a high bar to reach, but hey, it's something.
On a side note....More ship reprints have hit "shipping status" today which means Scum could be off the boat soon!!!!! Huzzah!!!

Sorry to sound so down but considering the content of this thread it seems quite clear that the "status" listed on the product page is worthless. I understand that the port issues on the west coast are holding things up at the moment and no one knows when anything is going to arrive but that surely doesn't make up for everything being late for the last 18 months.
Also don't mind me I'm just cranky because I want to play scum at my store champs on the 8th of march and every day its not here is another day I don't get to practice.
Dock issues have been the biggest cause of the Delays.
...that being said how many waves will we get from 06/14 to 06/15?

I just want to be able to use a Warthog...
