New Playmat from FFG! Finally someone gets it right?

Where is that from Elkertyc?

Upload your own picture (from NASA in my case) and get it deliveerd home for € 21,- incl. postage.

Costs very little, have it personalised (choose your own pic) and be doen with it.

I might buy the Death Star one though. SW geek for life!

Note that the picture I chose is one I deliberately picked to be one with lots of black and not too crowded.

A friend of mine did the exact opposite and has one with fantastic green nebulae. Stunning.

But I prefer the quiet ones. ;)

Too little and too late.

I already got mine.

Nice. Also, Level 7 and Eldritch Horror are both awesome

Good to hear. I've had both games for about a year, and still haven't played them...

oh nice - I guess I have an older version of the Vassal mod - I think I'm on 1.5

that must be part of 2.+

I agree that the star field may seem a little blah artistically, I disagree that this is a bad thing for a play mat. It is supposed to be background. When you look at a game in progress you want to see the ships flying around not be amazed at the colors of the things they are flying around on top of.

My son just LOVES the Deathstar so I will probably get the Deathstar one to hang on his wall, but to play on I think I would prefer the star field.

I did not say the starfield was bad, just artistically bland. It can be a bit spiced up without disrupting the play field. But regardless even the plain starfield is good if it's on neopream

I didn't realize that FFG had changed the article up from neoprene to natural rubber! The playmat I won at a store league is made from rubber, and it's a fantastic play surface. It does a great job of gripping the ships, templates and asteroid tokens to keep them from sliding around. While $40 plus $16 shipping seems expensive, the one I play on retails for $55 before shipping, so it still seems like a solid deal. I'm excited to hear how people enjoy playing on these.

Here's a wacky one, can't remember this second if it was included.

The only thing I dislike is the price. $40 plus $16 shipping. Yikes.

Well, Miniature Market and CoolStuffInc both have them listed for just under $34 - if that helps at all.
