Just to let people know, I have uploaded some extensions for making Talisman cards with Strange Eons.

Using the example of the DIY component for Strange Eons by Chris Jennings, I have updated it for all editions of the game.

I have taken a few screenshots of the Revised 4th Edition extension to help people along, but it should all be quite straight forward to use.

Update:

With a great deal of help from Nemomon I have now made a Polish extension for Strange Eons, which is available at Talisman Island.

There are a couple of little niggles with it, but when those are ironed out I shall post an update.

If anyone else is interested in a localised version, get in touch with me and we will see what we can do!

it doesnt work. i innstalled java6 from the link, then the 2008 eons , then the patch, then the talisman 4 , the ui grid. installed it all, it sais : unable to create lib_reg_family. java.io.file.not found exception talisman 4e fonds...etctc

Ah yes, I've just uploaded a fixed version of the 4th Edition extension and the Revised one as they both had files which referred to other extensions. If you didn't have them installed then it would go wonky.

All fixed now (hopefully) so if you download the latest version, you should be good to go.

I have donloaded the patch for all editions of talisman and neutral alignment cards but it doesn't seem to work. It only has the revised 4th edition card set in it. Can you point me to the correct file.

Have you installed the UI Grid Library ? ...and I know it may sound like a silly question, but have you actually installed the extensions you have downloaded?

If so and it's still not working for you then give me a shout via pm, email or messenger.

Have all the correct files loaded I think. Have all 4EdR cards including alignment change for the new neutral cards but don't have the cards for editions 1 -3. Thanks for your help

I have emailed you directly to try and fathom this. It might be worth your while looking at the Strange Eons site to see if the FAQ there helps too.

(In other news... small tweaks have been made to the extensions, but I am going to hang on before I upload them...)

thanks to all you/those responsible for letting us use the charecter card software . ive remade all the old talisman charecters that i didnt have; from chaos warrior to space marine, even the rat man (skaven).

for a while i was getting pissed at ffg for not relasing something soon but now that i have these new/(old) charecters waiting for the city expansion will now be tolerable.

SE can only see one version of a file with a given path name inside of a plug-in archive (that is, a /resources/etc/... path). If two different plug-ins use the same path name for one of the files in their plug-in, whichever one happens to get loaded first "wins". In this case, SE might be getting some of the files from a different version of the plug-in.

I would suggest looking in the plug-in folder (choose Toolbox | Manage Plug-ins... and then press Open Plug-in Folder ). You may need to exit SE before you can delete any old versions you find (it depends on your operating system and the phase of the moon).

If you are getting "UI Grid Library" errors I suggest downloading Strange Eons, UI Grid Library, and the Talisman Plugin into the same folder. When you run Strange Eons Installer it will give you a list of things you can check to install and in that list you can click UI Grid Library.

This worked for me. Any other way of installing UI Grid Library did not work. I tried installing it from the plug-in menu, directly from the folder etc. and always got the error. But the above method worked on the first try. (I uninstalled Strange Eons and deleted it from my programs directory and then re-downloaded the above software and plugins into the same folder and re-installed).
