Should Scum and Villainy have been...

Bounty hunters are for hire. Thus in the star wars universe they would be seen fighting with both the rebels and the empire. The key phrase is "for hire"

There are other organizations besides the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. The mercenaries and bounty hunters of Scum & Villainy are likely hired by Hutt Cartels, Black Sun, and other nefarious groups.

Except that until the plans were revived after the GCW weren't only 6 ever made?

After the Clone Wars.

pre-clone wars only the one or two survived. But yeah I can see that they ret-conned that for galaxies (seeing that a lot when asking for ships lately).

Honestly, the "Jango blew up all the other prototypes and stole the plans and murdered the designer and memory-wiped everyone who'd ever heard of it" bit was implausible in the first place.

Allow me to say, for the love of god please no Allies Matrix... ever. Crons and Blood Angels are not friends no matter what you write in the lore Matt Ward!!! *Rant off, so yes FFG, no allies matrix ever. Thank you-

It was kinda interesting after wave 2, that bounty hunters were imperial and smugglers were rebels. But that is kinda how things break down in the Star Wars Universe.

What I find interesting is who has made it into the SaV faction. It's not like the Rebels are good and the Empire is bad and the Scum are some how a Neutral. Every single SaV ship and pilot to come out seems to land squarely on the side of evil. Didn't what's-his-face from Black Sun secretly report to the Emperor in the Shadows of the Empire book?

But if you skip Ward's fluff then you'll find some pretty fun codexes to play. His Demonhunters and Blood Angels codexes were miles better than the ones they just released. My 30 man Sanguinary Guard with Dante and priests was just legislated right out of the codex... :(

I hear ya man, I absolutely love the Sang Guard, one of my favorite units to run, and one of the best looking to boot.

Nipple marines? No...ward was a pox on the game...by deamonhunters do you mean the grey knights? Cause they were broken as hell. He even write my necron dex...and we all agreed the mind shackle scarabs were stupid busted...not that it stoppered from using them.

Drea Renthal (Scum Y-wing PS 5) was an ethical pirate queen as well as Lando Calrissian's old lady (over a decade his senior) for a period of time. She's not written as an evil character.

Now what she's doing in a Y-wing instead of on the deck of her CR-90 or Carrack cruiser is a better question. Then again they've got Etahn (the Fifth Battlegroup's Fleet Commander) in an E-wing, so...

Emon Assameen and a few of the HWK pilots weren't evil either. So yeah, the S&V evil thing is kinda very 100% completely BS. Sorry bud.

Nipple marines?

This just gave me a geat idea, Slaaneshy Emperor's Children, nipple clamps and all using the Sanguinary Guard model haha.

We could also farzlebleep the Children of the Daggerzeeble!

Two thoughts on about this thread.

Bounty hunters are for hire. Thus in the star wars universe they would be seen fighting with both the rebels and the empire. The key phrase is "for hire" How about scum ships being available for either faction but at a cost such as an additional 20 percent point cost? This will make it relatively unattractive, but possible for those that really want to do it.

I'm seeing a lack of love for the firespray in an empire list. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the firespray start off as a prisoner transport? If they weren't transporting prisoners for the empire, then who were they doing it for? It seems to me that this is very much an empire ship, if not an old one.

I look at Star Trek: Attack Wing and I say, "No, thank you, let's not do that."

Serissu (M3A) is a pilot trainer. Laetin (also M3A) was a veteran who sent spacers on other missions. (They were both in SW: Galaxies). I don't know much about the story but if I understand correctly, while the Car'das did involve itself in some piracy it was not an inherently evil organization. They were even the lawmen on Tansarii Point Station. The wiki states they were more interested in profits than risking criminal activity.

And spot on with the HWK. Palob Godahli was part of a localized resistant movement, piloting none other than the Moldy Crow. He actually gifted it to the Alliance where Katarn picked it up. The other two HWK pilots, one's a bounty hunter, so that doesn't require evil. The other was a slaver. Screw that guy (except in my lists, where I'll love him).

N'Dru Suhlak was an anti-bounty hunter. A hunt saboteur who protected others from bounty hunts. Not necessarily evil.

This just gave me a geat idea, Slaaneshy Emperor's Children, nipple clamps and all using the Sanguinary Guard model haha.

I apologize, I didn't realize our conversation annoyed you to the point you felt the need chime in... I didn't realize this was your forum. Again my apologies, won't happen again.

I wouldn't really be in favor of being abel to mix factions - at least not for multiple years. However if they DID do it, I think it would have to be at a significant point cost. Perhaps a 15 point title that goes on a ship, which allows it to fly in another list. Or rather, 3 titles. One for each faction. This would cost both your title slot, and a chunk of points.

Respectfully though, it's perhaps better we kept on topic. I love 40K too, and even like the blood angels 6 pack and nipples armour (must get some for my deathwatch) But yeah. Scum and villainy y'all.

It isn't my forum at all, and you're free to do or say whatever you want (within the bounds of the code of conduct, obviously).

But I'm developing a tic, I think: there are a lot of Warhammer refugees here, which I actually think is great, but y'all have a tendency to occasionally lapse into some other language. I don't mind the occasional off-topic conversation, and I actually find conversations about tactics in strategy in wargames pretty interesting... until it hits the point where I literally can't understand you. At that point I start to get twitchy.

No harm no foul... and when you're ready to join the Dark Gods you let me know, we have four of em to choose from. ;)

All I have to do is look at my Star Trek Attack Wing collection to see what a bad idea mixing factions can be. I'm glad we'll have the option to play Boba Fett either with other scum or with the Imperials (he did work with the Imperials in the movies after all, even if he was actually after Jabba's bounty on Han).

I also like that we'll have a third full faction in the game. Should add even more to the variety we already enjoy!
