I really love the game Rock, Paper, Scissor! However last week I went to an organized event and 80% of the players showed up playing Paper. This was very disheartening as a Rock player. There is clearly a balance issue with the game as I can't seem to beat Paper no matter what what I do as a Rock player.

I would suggest we make the following fix to Paper so the game can be more enjoyable for all ( by that I mean me the Rock player). So in a best of 3 match each player should only be allowed to throw Paper once every other round. This would allow for more varity in the game and everyone will have more fun.

P.S. Scissors are fine they way they are no changes needed to fix it!

Rock beats Paper. Just like Rock smashes Scissors. You just need to hit that paper harder...

what do u clarify as scissor, rock and papar at all ? i dont think this game feels like that maybe u need to fly better ?

Add Lizard. This would be good versus paper and eqaul against both scissors and rock.

Add Spock. However, due to licensing problems with Spock being used in a Star Wars game this needs to be weak against evrything, but should come with super powerful upgrade cards (that works with everything else) so everyone still needs to buy it.

Have you tried Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard by Wizkids? It's very similar to Rock Paper Scissors, but with the Star Trek licence. Its only downside is that its components don't look as good as those that FFG puts out.

Dear FFG, it's the Rock player again. With the new release of Lizard, Spock all the Paper players have now just switched to Spock. Now all the Rocks that I purchased are worthless again. The power Spock holds over Rock should have been discovered during your beta testing. Since we already limit the use of Paper we should come up with a new way to stop people from using Spock so much. I would recommend that when two players throw Rock vs Spock the Spock player must roll predict a number 1-6 and then roll a six sided dice. If the Spock player rolls the number predicted he wins the match ther wise he must choose a new hand to throw. If he has already thrown Paper he cannot reuse Paper this round.

Wookies are the starwars version of Vulcans right? Wookies always win battles of logic?..? And the loser leaves with their arms unattached from their sockets...

Aren't open letters written on Paper? It's called the Rock player conundrum...

At this point I just wish we could go back to when there was no Paper in the game and the only things you could throw wee Rock and Scissors. The game just seems so unbalanced now. I will be putting my RPSLS game away and wait for the reboot and hopefully they will fix some of the balance issues.

last tournament i was in was pretty diverse. I do love it when i get to play somebody that has an anti-whisper build with all ultra high PS pilots and i show up with my all 2 ps BZ mini swarm build..lol however NOT being able to shoot first does still suck..lol but rolling LOTS or red dice is always fun while it lasts!! key word is while it lasts..

Posts like this remind me about the EVE Online forums, somewhat wistfully. All we need to complete the experience is someone screaming about how they got into this game to fly spaceships in asteroids, and who are these griefers who keep shooting at them, oh and despite constant growth, EVE, er Xwing, is totally dying. Yup any minute now.

Well I know now this is a mock thread, but after hearing that in a tournament next province over 11 out of 15 players were flying rebels and I believe all were turret builds does sadden me some

I believe three were also fat Han with z95.

It seems it's gotten to the point, or at least here most now feel they need big fat turrets to compete

Duel Ig88 with autothrusters are going to destroy turrets er, hopefully anything with autothrusters.

There is a meaningful discusion that can happen from this thread. The Rock player represents all the players who choose to not change themsleves but would rather see everything eles change around them in X-Wing. To many people have fallen into this mind set "this beats me and has to be fixed". Turrets have been apart of this game since the beginning. They have only recently become the monster that spawns a never ending threads of Nurf It or Fixes. All along ignoring the scissors that have been the all along. This is simply a case of cause and effect. Tie Swarm, runs the game from the beginning making squads with a small ship count nearly impossible to fly and do well with ( even Han Solo ). No squad seems to put up good numbers vs a Swarm until the Phantom is released and it stops the Swarm dead in it's tracks. Suddenly the weight is lifted off of the large ships and they have a good game vs the Phantom. With the Phantom (The Rock) keeping the Scissors on the sideline the natural answer to Paper, it allows Paper to get out of control. Where the problem comes in is how well the Rock does vs Paper since Rock wins a fair amount of its Paper matches. This means players don't move away from Rock and more players who just don't want to play Rock will move to Paper. So now we will introduce a card that will make Paper a little harder to play. If you never deal with the cause you can really never change the effect.
