Hey Guys-
I generally have an issue with the way the term "Meta" or "Metagame" gets used here, specifically when selecting your ships. In my opinion, there's nothing "meta" about it, it's simply part of the game (like selecting a color in Chess or choosing a weapon in Call of Duty).
However, what if there were TRUE meta game abilities (as in, game abilities that are "meta" or get triggered outside the scope of the game). What do you think of these?
EPT: "Token Patrol" 3 pts
"If your opponent has focus or evade tokens on a ship during the Activation phase that should have otherwise been removed, replace them with stress tokens."
PILOT ABILITY:
"If your opponent has proxied or equipped an upgrade card that doesn't belong to him or her, you may gain/concede initiative at will."
MODIFICATION: "Component Malfunction" 2 pts
"If your opponent rolls a die that falls outside of the play area, they may not modify or use the result for this roll."
This way, player performance directly affects the pilot performance in a true metagame fashion.
What do you think/Do you have any others?
