Dark Obsession

By teajay33, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Playing now.. Just paid 3 influence for it, but there are 2 side missions already active. Does it discard one? Or is there just 3 active now? And if it is discard one, does the imperial pick or rebel as to which is discarded?

Dark Obsession is placed along side the other 2 side missions. The Rebels now have a choice among those 3 but if they do not chose Dark Obsession you will automatically be awarded Darth Vader. If they do choose Dark Obsession then the next time you come to a side mission in the campaign those 2 side missions will still be active for them to choose from.

what page in the rules does it state that the empire player automatically gets vader if they do not choose the side mission?

Page 14 of the LTP:

Some Agenda cards become active side missions when purchased. Heroes can choose to resolve one of these missions anytime they can resolve a side mission. These cards provide an automatic reward to the Imperial player if the heroes decide to resolve another side mission instead of this Agenda's mission.

I cant seem to find any reference to it in the RRG though.

I think it is in the text box of the card itself. The last bit after telling you which mission to play.

thx

Played this one over the weekend vs my gf. Got Vader one square away on the last turn. Lol so close but so far away.

When do the IP recieve the reward if the rebels choose not to reseolve the agenda mission, before or after the next side mission?

is in the mission card text.

"After the heroes resolve any other side mission..."

once they complete the side mission they chose, you receive the reward

Sorry, but I can't find there it states that "Resolve" means "completes" the other side mission, couldn't the moment the heroes pick the side mission be the moment it's resolved?

English is not my first language so it might be my understanding of the word "resolve" I'm off about. .

Definition of resolve from a random dictionary gives this:

to deal with (a question, a matter of uncertainty, etc.) conclusively; settle; solve:

to resolve the question before the board.

So yes. When the rebels have finished another story mission instead of your agenda mission. The reason why "resolve" is not defined in the rulebook is because it has it's own definition in the english language. But it's a good thing to ask! :)

It's ok, we are here to help ( ^_^ )

when they finish the side mission they have chosen, then you receive the reward.
