Do we have any information on which investigators got the most votes?
The Second Great Ritual of Voting: This Time, It's Personal

I just don't see how Agnes made it so far. I think I've seen her in two games and she was not terribly effective. Maybe we just didn't play to her strengths.
Weirdly, I've had Storm of Spirits in both games Agnes has been in. Aggy rules with that spell (in the other game she also had Revelation of Script to boot).
In true George Bushian style, I must delightfully declare that, due to the Lily Chen Fiasco of July 5-6 (nice going, Cimmerz
), two votes were never fully completed and maybe kinda sorta shoulda been disqualified (or at least completed properly).
Which means, not only would Akachi and Monterey Jack have gone out earlier, but technically both Rex and Minh still have 1 vote left.
But what's a few hanging chads among friends, right?
I have full stats on everything (except for who voted each time, so consider all my stats "anonymous"), but I don't know how much people want. Here's a taste:
Most Total Votes / Most Hurt / Most Healed (Total / -1 / +1):
Dexter Drake – 64 / 37 / 27
Harvey Walters – 60 / 35 / 25
Luke Robinson – 60 / 35 / 25
Joe Diamond – 58 / 34 / 24
Sister Mary – 56 / 33 / 23
Least Total Votes / Least Hurt / Least Healed (Total / -1 / +1):
Vincent Lee – 12 / 11 / 1
Lola Hayes – 12 / 11 / 1
Skids O’Toole – 12 / 11 / 1
George Barnaby – 14 / 12 / 2
Carolyn Fern – 14 / 12 / 2
Ursula Downs – 14 / 12 / 2
Last Investigator to receive a -1 Hurt: Joe Diamond
Last Investigator to hold a score of 10 of any kind: Harvey Walters
Greatest Devourer of Heroes:
dj2.0 – 5 eliminations (George, Marie, Jenny, Wilson, Harvey)
jgt7771 – 5 eliminations (Amanda, Gloria, Minh, Ursula, Norman)
mageith – 5 eliminations (Kate, Akachi, Tony, Mark, Mary)
Anvilek – 3 eliminations (Lily, Rita, Finn)
Bel-Shamharoth – 3 eliminations (Pete, Jacqueline, Dexter)
mattherobot* – 3 eliminations (Wendy, Monterey, Darrell)
* Also has the distinction of the only double elimination in this contest (Monterey and Darrell in one vote).
(I looked and looked for the spreadsheet with the last contest's results, but after so long, I seem to have lost it. Too many home computers, too many crashes. Sorry, folks.)

You can still access the old forums. That's where I dug up the results from the old forum voting just last week.

Nope, those votes were ignored. We had a total of 929 Hurts and 449 Heals, though, which is one Hurt in excess (there should have been 928), but that's not too bad.

Interesting that Skids is in that list - most of those went out pretty quickly, but he hung on pretty much to the end. (I considered healing him several times, but he was always doing well enough not to be in need of it compared with others I liked)
It's also interesting how much from the middle onwards, simply having a high score (Harvey, Agnes, Joe, Leo, etc) made one a target, but didn't make much difference to the final result.

I don't understand. Wouldn't Diana be the last person to receive a -1 Hurt, since she was the runner-up?
avec said:
No, I meant that Joe was the last Investigator to receive his FIRST -1 vote. The last Investigator to still have a "virgin 10" score, if you will.

Gotcha. I think I see what you did. I ended up with 927 and 448...so close enough. Nice work.

And the Ex-Con pulls ahead as the prime example of "flying under the radar." Not too threatening, not too popular...the cops will never notice him as he fades into the "adequacy".
Ohhhh I'm so glad of getting back at home after working 12 hours and seeing that Leo won!
I don't know whether he is the best (I mean, a balance of power, style, playability and stuff) or not, but he's always been among my favourities.
So glad, I am.

It's nice to see some weaker investigators in the top ten, since AH isn't really about power gaming.
Heh, KH investigators got a lot of flak, Luke in the top-20, everyone else 27 and worse
! I like it! Though Tony I wouldn't have minded seeing higher, guess the whole monster-killer, but no fixed gun hurt him?

Do I get a trophy for this? A ribbon? A gold star? Anything? lol sorry about the mixup.
I'm in the process of considering how my "favorites" ranking would go. It would be a fickle list, and certainly subject to how I'm feeling at the moment, or what just happened in a game.
All of the investigators I defended did very well, so I'm pleased. I had to miss a vote this past weekend, which very likely would have altered the scores slightly, that close to the end. But on the whole, I'm very happy. In my crew were Silas, Tommy, Leo, as well as the single Skids heal, way back at the beginning.
I am responsible for Mark's very high placing, because I adore the guy so much. I'm surprised he didn't get hit much more and earlier, considering the general dislike of 3 Will and 3 Sanity.
I also count myself responsible for Michael's placing, as I campaigned to destroy him. To those of you who think their positions should be reversed: There's no accounting for taste. And blind consistency.
Well, I suppose there is accounting for that. Oh well.
Dam's Angels:
Sister Mary, Trish Scarborough, Minh Thi Phan. Who to get as Bosley? Wilson Richards or "Skids" O'Toole most likely choices.

Glad to see my 2nd favorite investigator won.
Too bad poor Wendy was eliminated so early, even though I did my best heal her. You infanticidal monsters!

Getting a free ES + 3 Clues + crazy good ability = da boot, regardless of age.
There are only a handful of investigators that I dislike.
Arkham Horror:
Mandy, too cheesy ability. I just can't see how her research can be applied to any invetsigator anywhere in the board. Maybe if it could only affcet herself or investigators in her space, and was a simple mulligan. And maybe cost some research information (a clue) to use, then maybe I'd like her a bit more.
Amanda, just plain dull.
Dunwich: has the most consistantly interesting group of invetsigators, including my favourite Diana. Initially I didn't like Rita, but she is more fun in play than I would have thought even though I don't use her ability much
Kinsport: a variable bunch. I have a soft spot for Tony. My favourite stamina 7 investigator. I like the fact that he doesn't always start with a heavy weapon (but has a decent chance of buying one). See his backstory for the reasons why he may have lost his gun. I liked Wendy from the start before I realised how strong she was, and I still find her fun. Luke is a great idea. Lola is Rita all over again, more fun to play than you'd think (as was pointed out some time back by Mageith IIRC).
Dislikes
Not keen on Lily for thematic and fiddly game issue reasons, but have mellowed as Rachel likes her so much and felt aboliged to heal her once out of family loyalty.
But then there is Daisy (yuk in multiple ways),
and Charlie hands down my least favourite overall and with an ability that is either dull, or stupidly overpowered (if you kid yourself on about what it really should be) that has never been clarified.
Innsmouth: too early to be sure, but thus far I don't like
Patrice: Mandy's bigger possibly badder sister
George: Just doesn't appeal
Trish: Way too versatile to be of interest. And too fiddly to bother with (fiddliness probably less of an issue in one investigator per player games)
Hank: Not disliked quite as much, just a bit boring as the monstera are much less of a threat.
I have my suspicions that I may come to dislike Roland. I voted multiple times against Tommy but by then most of my real dislikes were gone and he was my least favourite remaining (and no-one else was targeting him).

Swiping Mariana's format
:
Arkham Horror:
Dislike: Amanda, Vincent and Dexter. Gloria is still on the list, but her PS has boosted her out of the hate-list. Mandy I'll agree doesn't make much (or any) sense with regard to her ability (but it's not like Leo gives rousing speeches at say Train Station, which are heard in R'lyeh
). Since final combat is THE thing to avoid for me, Mandy doesn't go down as badly as with others I think. Amanda is just too bland, nothing going for her really. Vincent is too slow and his PS is crappy. Dexter, well, he's yet to pass his PS so can't say if it'll move him up the charts, probably not. Jenny "Dilly Dally" Barnes was never a big hit, her PS just dumped her down. Money is nice, but still.
Like: Sister Mary (duh). Joe Diamond was in my first ever AH game and gets a nostalgia boost for that reason (even if he did take 3 damage before killing a Cultist with 12 dice
, darn Ithaqua). Again, final combat avoidance and general non-gearing lessens Joe's Clue-Shotgunning capabilities. Joe + Clues is fun for the Terrible Experiment.
Neutral on others really.
Dunwich Horror:
Dislike: Jim Culver. Gloria version 2.0, but his PS didn't make him that much better. Marie Lambeau is starting to slide into this category, due to her PS pass clause.
Like: Jacqueline Fine. I love gate bursts, but it's still nice to one in a while be able to negate one (if even if you discard 1 GB, only to draw a GB at another sealed location as replacement
) or get to ignore Rumors.
Neutral on others, don't really mind drawing any of them. Wilson did get hit on his PS though.
Kingsport Horror:
Don't hate: Tony. Maybe Lola. After recently reading Dream Quest for Unknown Kadath, maybe give Luke a break.
Everyone else must die a horrible, Visage/Dust death
!
Innsmouth Horror:
Dislike: Norman, George, Hank, Patrice, William. Still haven't seen Zoey, but she'll probably fall into this category. Stormin' Norman + Find Gate is nice, but I hate PS that works only in final combat. His ability has also been very minor. George. Bleh. Slow, can't fight, can't really do much of anything. If that Retainer kicks out on the first possible roll, can't even fund those rare arrest negations. Hank. Mainly due to his PS. He can kick ass nicely, but since monsters are the sideshow for me, don't really care about it. Patrice does make the game too easy. William, mainly his speed (which wouldn't be bad if he didn't start at the "wrong end")
Like: Trish! Minh! I love Trish just for the reason Mariana dislike her, versatility. Readjusting her every turn is fun. Have to think about where you're planning on going, which encounters are likely, etc. Minh starts off equipped to seal a gate. But at least she has to work for it (read the KiY successfully), unlike bleeping Wendy, who gets -1 doomer, auto-sealer for free
! Probably would hate Minh against Y'Golonac as her PS pass would have to come from starting equipment or else get doomer(s). Against others, if you pass it, Minh's got a permanent Voice of Ra. And she's a Team Player!
Neutral on the rest, though Roland is starting to get bad rep for being a bit too good.
So, here's my list and my very reasons:
AH:
---like---
Michael McGlen. Reason: I'm Italian.
Joe Diamond. Reason: I like **** Tracy and trench coats.
Dexter Drake. Reason: I like his attitude.
Darrell Simmons. Reason: explorig and having encounters is my favourite part of the game.
Monterey Jack. Reason: he's very difficult to play- which I call challenging- and I love his special ability.
Bob Jenkins. Reason: his skills and starting possessions make him one of the best all-round characters.
Jenny Barnes. Reason: Bank Loan strategy.
Carolyn Fern. Reason: probably the best spellcaster so far (since I just *removed* Daisy from the game).
---dislike---
Amanda Sharpe. Reason: I never get to use her ability more than once every 3-4 games. And she sucks at about everything.
Sister Mary. Reason: a nun casting such obscure spells deserves getting LITAS straight away! And I don't like her God mumbo-jumbo plot.
Vincent Lee. Reason: slow. Useless. Boring.
Kate Wintrop. Reason: what's the fun in preventing gates from opening?
Well pointed out on leo, Dam, I meant to comment on him at the end but forgot.
Loe I don't hate, but don't particularly like either. He's kind of so-so for me. Although logically i should really hate him as I do Mandy & Patrice for having an ability that can take place anywhere. In practice his ability is a great help, but doesn't feel quite like taking a bludgeon to the game (unlike Patrice and Mandy). And I always get crap for equipment for him, so he is great at helping out, but not up to much in himself.
I'm really surprised that he won, I like almost all the other Dunwich investigators more than him (although as I said earlier, Dunwich is a particularly fun set IMHO)
- Mariana the ex-nun cultist
ps also it occurs to me that many of my favourites only have speed max of 3. When I first got AH I hated 3 speeders, but I pretty soon started playing with multiple invetsigators and it bothered me much less then. I think if I played as part of a regular group with only one investigator then I'd be much more down on slower investigators due to all the turns where you don't get an encounter etc.
