Hello, folks! I don't know how many of you malingered on the old boards or remember the original Great Rituals of Voting that I set off there, but I promised that a second round of Great Rituals would be run when Innsmouth Horror - the last big-box expansion - was finally released. Well, it took me a little while to get hold of IH, but here it is.
For those who missed it the first time: the Great Rituals of Voting are what is commonly known as "hurt/heal" polls. In these polls, each candidate starts with a certain number of points. Everyone can then vote to hurt a number of candidates by deducting a point from their tally, and may also heal another candidate by restoring a point. When a candidate runs out of points, he or she is eliminated from the poll and optionally awarded a final placing. The last candidate to still have points is the winner.
The object of the Rituals is to find out the most popular Investigators and GOOs, not the best or easiest to defeat. If you love Patrice or Mandy because they're strong, vote to heal them. If you hate them because you think they unbalance the game, vote to hurt them. There are no wrong answers - just go with your personal preference. Although it needs rules to keep things orderly, it's all just a bit of fun and in no way as serious as being sucked through a dimensional portal to have your soul feasted upon by an unspeakable tentacular evil.
So, without further ado - let the Ritual commence!
The Rules of Voting:
1) Each Investigator starts with 10 points.
2) Voters must hurt exactly two Investigators, and may if they wish heal one other Investigator.
2a) When there are eight or fewer Investigators remaining, this changes to one hurt per vote and no heals.
2b) An Investigator with 10 points cannot be healed - they're not hurt!
3) Voters may vote no more than once every 24 hours.
