Second Printing.

By knasserII, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

I've been running EotE and I think it's great. I'm probably going to buy AoR too to supplement it. Has there been a second printing yet that incorporates errata or is that still to come? I'm not in any rush to buy it as I have enough for now with EotE, so I can wait if not. But if it has, I'll go buy it. :)

Second printing has been out for a few months.

Edit: Nevermind. I thought you were asking about a second printing of Edge.

No, I have EotE. I take it from your reply that there hasn't been a second printing of AoR with errata, then? And if EotE has only just received one then I'm guessing AoR will be quite some time, yet?

Edge of the Empire is currently on its third (English) printing, however they haven't updated the FAQ since the first reprint. The Edge of the Empire Beginner Game is also in its third printing, and I believe (I don't have it in front of me right now) that the Edge of the Empire GM screen is on its second printing.

The Age of Rebellion GM screen is currently on its second printing, but I've not seen anything to indicate that the Age of Rebellion Core Rulebook is about to start its second print run anytime soon. It will usually show up on the "upcoming" page a few months before it hits stores.

When you are looking for an updated printing, you're usually better off ordering directly through Fantasy Flight, since there's no way to know with an online retailer like Amazon. Your FLGS will probably get the book through a distributor, which might not go through its stock as quickly and still have old copies of the book.

Miniature Market is usually pretty good about getting updated printings, however if I'm hunting for the latest printing of the book, I'll usually call them first and ask. (This only works if I know which printing is indicated by the code above the UPC- otherwise they have no way of knowing or how to check.)

Thanks. I spoke to Leisure Games in London and they said it's dried up for them which suggests it might be going through for a second printing, but they're not sure. I think perhaps I should email FFG themselves.

Thanks for all replies, everyone.

I contacted FFG's support - turns out they're really helpful! There is a second printing that includes errata. You can distinguish it from the first errata because it has the code: S14205.

Don't know if that's of interest to anyone but as I started this thread, thought I'd post it for anyone's interest if they ever search for information on this.

I buy them too quickly, but that is helpful to know.

Thank you for doing the research on that.

Are we sure about that? I got a response back from Customer Service today and she said that there hasn't been a reprint yet.

I did some digging through my own library, and it appears that S14205 is actually the code for the third printing of the Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook. Perhaps there was a miscommunication.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I am wondering about Age of Rebellion: Core Rulebook having a 2nd printing. I am thinking of ordering it for my B-day and wonder if there is more than one printing. It seems from the talk about there may be, however no one has verified this information. How would I go about finding out?

I corresponded with support and was told there was a second printing incorporating errata for Age of Rebellion and that the code on the book was S14205. I spoke to a game shop here in the UK and they had just got a fresh copy of AoR in and we checked the codes but it was definitely older than this. I'm afraid I don't have the actual code they gave me to hand but it was significantly lower than S14205. I had assumed this meant that they just weren't getting in the second printing yet but with Yashiyahu's post above, maybe they gave me bad info so now I'm honestly not sure, I'm afraid.

You could try contacting FFG's customer support. They're pretty quick responders. I'm honestly just thinking that I'll get it anyway now if a second printing isn't available. The problems people spotted wasn't very large, I think. FFG have extremely good quality control. There was a thread on it here: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/110230-how-is-the-errata-looking/

Sadly they haven't published an official FAQ / Errata for AoR as they have for EotE so that lends support to the idea that there may not yet be a second printing. Your call, I'm afraid. For me, the book is an extra on top of EotE and not for immediate play, but for later use instead. So it really makes little difference to me to wait. But if I wanted to play it right now, I would just get it, to be honest. Changes are going to be pretty minimal.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I hope that is useful.
