My son and I just finished watching the Clone Wars storyline with Pong Krell. He thought the 4 armed jedi using 2 double-bladed lightsabers was really cool. Is there a way to emulate this in the game with 4 armed characters?
Dual Wielding Question
If you have 4 arms, you have 4 hands, so....literally speaking, I guess you could use any 2 weapons requiring 2 hands to use...2 vibro-axes, 2 gaffi sticks. I don't think this question has come up yet with the one multi-limbed playable species, the Xexto, and maybe we should ask.
I'm not sure how I feel about it, but If you want to allow it in your game follow the normal rules for two weapon combat, taking into account that according to the F&D Beta Errata the Double-bladed Lightsaber is Unwieldy 3, requiring Agility 3 to wield without additional penalty.
As long as the PC has the requisite Agility, the difficulty is a Hard Lightsaber (Brawn*) check. For every 2 advantage, trigger another hit up to 4 total–(2nd advantage activates the Linked quality on primary lightsaber for a 2nd hit, 4th advantage activates secondary lightsaber for a 3rd hit, 6th advantage activates the Linked quality of the secondary lightsaber for a 4th hit).
*Brawn can be substituted with another Characteristic with the requisite Force Talent.
Edited by DomingoAlso RAW in the Beta and Errata for F&D, the Double-bladed Lightsaber and Lightsaber Pike do not specifically state that they require two hands to use. I expect that this would change for the final version–definitely for the Lightsaber Pike given that it is "Similar in construction to a force pike or electrostaff."
Also, and not trying to be pedantic, but "Dual Wielding" is a D&D (and others) term whose rules work very differently and can lead to confusion when getting one's head around the Two Weapon Combat rule in FFGSW. Its a seemingly small thing but I noticed that new players, as well as myself since I also play in a D&D group, made the shift much quicker when I explained the difference and didn't call it Dual Wielding.
