Does anyone know of any plans for 3D printed tokens out there?
plans for 3D printed tokens:
3d printers are still so slow that I doubt they would be at all useful fir something like tokens. There are just so many better options.
Could be wrong though. Maybe there is some brilliant idea that will only work on a printer just waiting out there.
Are you looking for some to buy? Trying to find out if you would have competition once you get your own printer? Or just curious?
Edited by ForgottenloreAre you asking to buy them looking for savings against acrylic ones?
The acrylic tokens are so cheap and of such quality that unless you have a super cool custom design there's not really any reason to 3d print your own.
Is this what you are looking for? Saw these somewhere else on these boards today

I have a friend with access to a 3D printer, and I live in Norway so almost all acrylic tokens becomes twice as expensive when I want to get them shipped here... I agree that acrylics look way better.
And Gamblertuba those are good looking, but I was looking for more "flatt" ones and the actuall printing instructions.

OOoohhh... Me likey. I haven't found any acrylic TLs that I really like worth buying. It's making me sad that I sold my FFG ones since I really liked those. I'll have to really consider getting a set of those.
Those bomb tokens are a pretty neat idea. I bet they'd look awesome with a quick paint job.
As for other tokens, I've seen some that were about twice as thick as the cardboard, in two layers. The bottom half was just a circle, and the top half was a focus symbol. I don't know where they came from though.
I was thinking the tokens that were shown on the shapeways link above could be slightly modified - shrink them down a bit, reduce the base to token 'stand' as it were and you could just snap them off and lay them flat like 'normal'
Oh...now I get it. You meant
"Does anyone have the digital files to make..."
I think everyone else took it to mean
"Is there anyone who intends to make..."
Edited by ForgottenlorePrinting a set of tokens would take a consumer level 3d printer would take.... I'm estimating, 8 hrs? Wouldn't be more than $5 in material. Well maybe more if you decide to infill 100%, but 20% should be fine.
Most likely, you'll have to design them yourself. Sketchup is nice and free and very user friendly (comparatively speaking)
There are some 3D X-Wing tokens going on in this crowdfunded thing:
